We seem to see teams doing that a lot these days....

NDSU women beating IUPUI was a big surprise to me as was USD losing to UMKC last week. It looks like the rest of the conference is going to beat eachother up while we open up a big lead. We might get complacent and lose a game or two but that should not be a problem as far as losing the #1 seed goes.

Looking back at the records, I see that no WBB team since 1994 (N. Ill.) has gone undefeated during the conference season. Even the great SDSU team of 2009/2009 lost one conference game. This year's team has a chance to make history.

One of the IPFW players said after the game that the SDSU game is the one game they want to win. Not the exact quote but something like that. But we've won 4 straight summit tourney championships, so everyone wants to dethrone us.

The games that will have spotlight on Saturday will be the yotes @ Oakland and the bison @ Western Illinois. The Jacks ought to handle a depleted IUPUI and should they complete the job-it will not be boasted as loudly as the bison victory at Indianapolis. We will see if the offense of the yotes can blow by the Griz @ Orena. The game at Macomb is a toss up on who wants to play past the other (as I chant go Leathernecks).

The women's game finds SDSU(6-0) hosting the second place Jags(3-2). Oakland(2-3)tries to climb to the middle of the pack against the yotes(3-3) in the dome. KC(1-4)and Ft Wayne(2-4) battle for the cellar and WIU(2-3) will have its hands full at the bison(3-3) sports arena.

I am enjoying the conference portion of the basketball season.

I suppose I should hold my nose and try to root for the USD men today. They're going to need all the help they can get. A letdown loss by Oakland would give us some breathing room.

It sure would be nice if that NDSU/WIU men's game was on TV. Please share a link if any of you find free video. I think I'll pick NDSU to win, mostly because I think both the WIU players and crowd will still have a hangover from the buzzkill we dropped on them Thursday. However, today's look at the skill level of IUPUI tells me that the NDSU win over them means little more than nothing. It had nothing to do with NDSU being "mad" and everything to do with all those injured players on the IUPUI bench. Tonight is a real test.

Nagy was saying in the pregame show SDSU vs.IUPUI that NDSU has tall guards and limited IUPUI 3 pt production. He went on to say tha IUPUI had lost some good players to injuries an ineligiblilty.

Bjorklund versus Parks will be fun matchup in the Bison/Leathernecks game. Two probable 1st Team All-Summit League post players. Wish I could see it.

USD is leading OU 48-40 at the half. Maybe they are going to help us out.

Biggest win in USD's transition. Did Oakland really do SDSU a favor. USD just went up the pecking order in the Summit after this weekend. Winning the way USD did today made a big statement about the Yotes.
                      How Bout Them Yotes

If you say so - if you look at your wins this season your best win is against us our RPI = 71, your next best win is NC Central RPI = 115, Oakland comes in as your 3rd best RPI = 157. I was pulling for the pups tonight as your RPI = 221, so you did us a favor. It is also nice when the 4th and 5th teams beat up on each other - if the tourney started today nothing really changed only your jersey color you move to 4th they drop to 5th. Still, congrats on the win.

Considering the advantage that USD had at home against the Jacks with the crowd, rivalry etc that was a nice win but not as big as the blowout win in Oakland. Winning at Oakland who doesn't lose at home very often makes a bigger statement in my mind. That game shows more about the Yotes progress than the win against the Jacks. Oakland did not play a bad game today.

Not exactly burning up the nets in Macomb - Bison up 15-9 with 7 minutes left in first half.

Alright, I'll buy that. Happy you won, and I don't say that much about pup wins
