If Larson folded against better teams in the spotlight, then what the heck did Braun do in the tournament?

Well he got us there for starters, something Larson did not...sure you didn't see that though, jack fans weren't exactly around Tuesday night to see.

Braun's body of work is pretty damn strong, just sayin.

Where there even NDSU fans there? If thats how well NDSU fans travel, you guys greatly exagerate your attendance numbers when you travel. Sorta weak showing I thought.

I would say that there were significant Jack fans around on Tuesday night. If I remember correctly, the bison would not have been in the game for Braun to have a few end of game heroics if Trayvon Wright had not kept the team in the game. The MVP of the IPFW game should be Trayvon. Braun had a great year for the Bison and he was a dominant player in the Summit this year. He just did not perform up to the billing at the end.

There may have been a reason Tray was getting those good looks. Taylor and Marshall changed the game, teams game planned and tried their best to take them away. Tray was the mvp of that game absolutely, but it would be foolish to think Braun's presence didn't have a helping hand in that.

Braun was pretty decent in the semifinal game against Denver that all you Jack fans had us pegged to come out flat and lose...

                  Re: NDSU petitions the NCAA

Didn't Braun hit a couple big shots at the end of the final to essentially win the championship for NDSU?

I love the debate going on here by SDSU fans:

Braun = He had 2 not so good games in the NCAA tournament against superior competition = he sucks!

Dykstra = He had a poor showing in several Summit League Tournament games against lower level competition = he's still one of the greats, you can't judge him on 2 games!

                  Oh the irony.

Taylor Braun's shooting for his last 3 games were 5-14, 3-11, and 2-14. He averaged 2 assists per game. Ouch.

Well he did score 10 of our last 11 points in the Summit title game.

                      Yep he was horrible.

I assume this is directed at me since I'm the Dykstra homer?

I have not ever, to my recollection, said Braun sucks.

BTW, the same logic that says Dykstra isn't an all time great would seem to dictate Carlin Dupree as one of the best ever to play for the Bison. I would love to get a Duke fan's take on that one...

This whole debate has irony. It just depends on how you want to look at it.

There was talk by BisonBohl about how Cody, "folded against better teams in the spotlight". But when Braun has not so good games against superior competition it's not folding in the spotlight. I guess we could be talking about "better teams" instead of "superior competition" so there might be a big difference.

Braun's last 3 games were pointed out already but he really only had 1 great game in his last 7. He want 2-14 (7 points), 3-11 (11 points), 5-14 (15 points), 7-9 (28 POINTS), 4-10 (16 points- good game), 6-13 (15 points), 1-6 (6 points) His 8th game was much better than the previous 7 games before it. He want 12-16 and had 31 points.

A few of those 7 games aren't bad but for the player of the year in the conference, I think you should be able to put up more points than shots in most games. He averaged about 5 points/game from the FT line so that helps the points and doesn't factor into the shot category.

I did really enjoy watching Braun play though. I'm sure he will move on and be playing ball somewhere(if that's what he wants). He is just too good of a ball player not to catch on somewhere. He would be my choice for player of the year in the league.

No, not directed at you, just the general flow of this thread in general.

This Duke fan has no time to comment. Too busy praying for Jabari's return.

And Hood, to go with some stellar freshman coming in next year. Maybe with wojo moving on coach can bring in a new assistant to help shake things up. Whats frustrating is Duke usually start the year strong, plays good teams and usually dose pretty decent, but the last few years they start to struggle when it gets closer to tournament time. If they both return Duke as to be top 5ish team next year for sure.

to the topic at hand, if NDSU fans say Larson didnt show up etc, even though he had a pretty decent year, its only fair to call it out and show how might Braun struggled also, they would have been home after okla, if not for LA playing out of his mind. Out side of his circus shot in the final game, TW was really the star of that game to win the summit.
