That's a fair comparison. SDST has 1 for sure NBA player unlike OU. OU didn't really have a player who could take over like Michigan, Baylor, and SDST did. SDSU had tough draws with a lot of NBA prospects like Burke, Hardaway Jr, McGary, GRIII, Pierre Jackson, Perry Jones III, Brady Heslip, and Quincy Acy. That's a difference of being a 13 seed instead of a 12 seed.

2013 Michigan and 2012 Baylor would kill OU from this year and would probably end up beating NDSU by 10+. NDSU got a good draw and they took advantage.

Ahh yes, more assumptions and conclusions thanks for that... Who knows you may just be right, but I can tell you for a stone cold fact that we won a game in the dance. Can you say the same?

Why don't you go back to running your script for the 6th Fan contest or tailgating or baiting scammers or making beer, or, or something else.

Women's BBall of course, you must forgive me. That's a topic I won't touch, for obvious reasons...damnit Dehoff.

OTOH it's always amusing to see how thin Bison skin is. Surprising, considering how hairy they are.

Once the bizen get knocked out of the summit tourny again next year we wont have to hear from them for 5 years untill they have a good team again. next couple years when NDSU basketball sucks again, we are going to hear a lot about butfootball since they obviously dont care about basketball.

                      Re: NDSU petitions the NCAA

It is obvious to me that for the majority of NDSU fans, a sport does not exist until they are successful at it. Once they have achieved success, it is at a level unmatched by anyone in the history of the world.

Exhibit A - Men's basketball goes largely undiscussed until the Bison win the Summit. Some fans even refused to get excited until they won a game in the NCAA. If the Bison had lost in the Summit tourney, 3 natty talk would have dominated until the end of next football season. They have a 6th fan award thread (obviously a basketball award) that is almost 300 pages long (that's got to be close to a record) in their football forum. In other words, the only way people would look at it was if it was attached to their already successful football team. Because, their basketball team had not yet achieved success, so therefore did not exist.
Exhibit B - Women's basketball is not and cannot be a source of pride for anyone, ever. I guarantee Bison women's basketball experts will crawl out of the woodwork crowing about their DII tradition if they ever make the dance.
Exhibit C - Hockey. The only sport that rivals Bison football popularity in the state of North Dakota (don't even try to say it doesn't) is ridiculed by Bison fans.

As I said earlier, I look forward to hearing your ideas regarding basketball in a few years when next year's freshman finish in the top half of the league.

Good thing SDSU is going to be so good next season. Maybe Broman will go for 4k points next season...maybe Larson won't fold like a cheap tent against the better post players, hell maybe we can find an extra year of eligibility for Wolters.

Maybe you can petition to get bruan an extra year since he won't be playing in the nba next year.

Speaking of that, UND is in the Frozen Four against Minnesota.

Cody Larson was actually second team all conference. Better than any NDSU player returning next year.

No doubt these facts were easy to miss, since the all-conference teams came out nearly 5 days before basketball became a real sport for most Bison fans.

Shockingly I knew that about Cody, good player but folded against better teams in the spotlight. He will be solid next season. I wouldn't discount what LA could accomplish next year for us, certainly could make a run for POY. Both of us know just how big of an impact a good pg can make.
