Have lived in all three (Brookings, Verm, Fargo, not to mention Mankato, MN, Iowa City, West Lafayette, IN, Norman, OK, and Wichita, KS).

Brookings is a different kind of college town in that it's actually primarily a college town. Most people who have lived or do live there love it for what it is, a small town that orbits around the university. Fargo is a really nice place to live, too. Fargo and Moorhead are not primarily college towns (though there are lots of college students there, spread among three institutions). FM is different. There are "college towns" and then there are small cities that are home to universities. It's just a matter of which you prefer. It makes no sense for anybody from Fargo to criticize Brookings for not being like Fargo. Likewise, people from Brookings won't find a "Brookings" in Fargo. I would be happy in either place. The'yre both exceptionally nice places to live.

The fact that many faculty at USD choose not to live in Vermillion tells you most of what you need to know about that place.
            Holy nutmeg!

Most Bison fans have never lived anywhere other than Fargo or their mom's basement, so yeah, Fargo seems pretty great to them.

I love Brookings. Had a good job opportunity have been there when I graduated I could have lived there my whole life. Just something about the place.

                  Re: Bison Excuses

                  A few more Bison excuses:
5 - Braun and Bjorkland forgot to take their long underwear off.
4 - Felt and Aaberg got lost at half time.
3 - Alexander and Wright laced up their shoes too tight.
2 - Brown and Kading kept looking in awe at SDSU women.
1 - Phillips got confused when Wolters and Fiegen didn't play. There went the game plan!
                  This space for lease.

This thread is quite today. All five NDSU basketball fans must be on their way to Brookings.

                      * Crickets chirping *

                      Chad White is hurt.
                      The refs sucked.
Our fans were too preoccupied with women's basketball to care.
Larson's dealer only had ditch grass left.
                      Fiegen graduated.
Dale Moss gave the pre-game speech focusing on the importance of rivalry games.
                      The BSA sucks.
                      NDSU cheats at free throws.
The fat ladies (SDSU cheerleaders) started singing just as the Jacks were starting their comeback.

I would be more comfortable if te had some port-a-potties on the concourse at Frost.

SDSU is now 2-6 at Frost against NDSU since 2006. Ouch!
