Yet he keeps winning and his teammates love him. Something most people who live in the upper Midwest and cheer for the Queens would die for. We shall see, I'd personally rather see a winner then someone who looks pretty and loses but that's just me.

I actually think the Vikings players like Ponder. But I also believe he is a better passer than Tebow. My agrument with Tebow is he is getting too much of the credit for the Broncos win streak. He might be the starting QB when the Broncos started their win streak, but he is not the reason for the wins. I am not a Vikings 'fan' but I do like to see local teams do well (all except KC--for some reason I just have never liked to watch KC play). I guess you must have thought I was a Vikings 'fan' with the Queens comment.

I will credit him with not turning the ball over. And he helps them control the clock, so those are 2 positives that Orton did not provide.

He completed like 10 passes. You must have watched a totally different game than me because his passes are horrible. There are more announcers than ESPN (and I am thankful the ESPN announcers don't have to kiss the players butt and say all of them are great).

He was 10 of 15, with 202 yds, 2 td and 0 int. A QB rating of 149...you can't get much better...regardless of what his passes looked like, he played a pretty good game vs the Vikings, the stats don't lie.

Sure he completes like 8 passes a game, but if 1 or 2 or 3 of the 5 are for scores, and the others are simply incomplete, vs picks, what's the difference? Not to mention rushing td's.

The guy doesn't turn the ball over.

Tebow does not turn the ball over (granted, he does not throw it much). Otherwise, I definitely give way more credit for the wins to the defense and their ridiculously easy schedule. Remember, Orton started off the 2009 season 5-0 for the Broncos and was the next big thing. That stretch included a win over the Patriots. Orton and his coach McDaniels were all the media could talk about. Where are they now???

It should also be mentioned, (I don't think it has been yet) that Brandon Lloyd, the Bronco's top receiver was traded at the same time as Tebow's began his reign as starting QB. Tebow, currently does not have very good wide receivers to throw to, and when it comes to all the negative press he has received, (Rick Reilly and others) prior to the start of the current season, it just seemed like piling on. I do not recall any other backup QB in the NFL that so many pundits wanted to bury before he hardly played. He did have a couple starts in 2010 but the attitudes prior to this season seemed pretty negative about a guy who didn't even start until the sixth game or so. Tebow could back down on his proselytizing, but I'm not sure what giving praise to Jesus Christ, is in itself, so harmful either. Lastly, as a Bear fan I still say, "Go Bears" and sack Tebow a bunch.

Totally agree. Tebow reminds me of Billy Kilmer. Fighter, nothing pretty, but undisputed leader, scrappy, will mix it up. Though Billy's private life was a little more colorful. Remember Joe Kapp? Every pass looked like a wounded duck. Perfect QB for a team built around running game, defense, toughness. Not every winning QB in the NFL has to be a perfect-spiral pretty boy.

The Today show had a piece about Tebow's display of personal religion. I dont know if its a good thing or not. If it helps him on the field, I guess its okay. I think it gets kind of boring when you get snowed with blessings and and the impression that some how god is on his side. Wait until he has a bad year. He might be flipping to the Book of Job.

I do not hate the guy or his religion, but sometimes when people continue to talk the talk, they sometimes fail to walk the walk. That is a concern of mine. ie Jimmy Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart come to mind. We are all sinners, and to constantly praise the lord becomes cheap talk after awhile. You become convinced that Tebow is without sin at least this appears to be his goal in verbalizing constantly.

I guess I would call myself not a fan of religion, and I don't hate him because of religion. I don't care what religion he (or anyone else, for that matter) is, I just find the media coverage of him (good and bad) overbearing and annoying. I thought the same thing about Favre, as I'm sure many of us did. At least Favre had talent, though.
