South Dakota advances at NCAA North Central Regional

VERMILLION, S.D. -- Bridget Yoerger scored 20 points and Amber Hegge added 16 to lead top-seeded South Dakota to a 66-55 win over Colorado State-Pueblo Friday in a first-round game at the NCAA Division II North Central Regional women's basketball tournament.
Yoerger was 8-for-16 from the field with four 3-pointers for the Coyotes (29-1), who will play in the semifinals on Saturday.
South Dakota led 35-23 at the half despite shooting 36 percent from the field. It finished the night at 42 percent.
Jeana Hoffman had 11 points and three assists for South Dakota.
The ThunderWolves (21-10) shot just 30 percent in the first half and made two of 10 3-pointers.
Mary Rehfeld paced CS-P with 22 points. Lindsay Black added 11 points and eight rebounds.
