I see Wayne State must be a top 30 DI team using the logic of one Cadwick Lavin.

Wayne State was defeated Saturday by a buzzer beater. Tiffany Moe drovthe length of the court and knocked down a 15 footer to lead MSU-MANKATO to a 72-70 victory. MSU-M will play usd2 for the berth to the elite eight on Monday at 7:00 pm. Tiffany's father is a member of the football chain gang at SDSU. Lets all cheer MSU-M to a victory.

Shannon Daly scored 15 of her career-high 21 points in the first half and South Dakota pulled away late in the game to beat Minnesota State, Mankato 61-49 Monday in the championship game of the NCAA Division II North Central Regional women’s basketball tournament.

The Coyotes (31-1) won their 29th straight game and stretched their home winning streak to 22 games.
The third-ranked Coyotes advance to the Elite Eight Championships for the first time in school history. The tournament is March 26-29 in Kearney, Neb.
Monday’s win was South Dakota’s fourth over Minnesota State this season. The 49 points were a season low for the Mavericks (23-9).
Daly, who was named the tournament’s most outstanding player, nearly doubled her scoring average of eight points by halftime. She finished 9-for-13 from the field.

Jenna Hoffman had 14 points and nine rebounds and Jeana Hoffman added 10 points.

Minnesota State led 28-27 at the half and was within 38-24 with 10:25 to play in the game.

But the Coyotes, who shot 22-for-55 from the field, went on a 19-6 run to go up 57-40.
The Mavericks, who averaged 81.9 points a game, were just 18-for-46 from the field and 1-for-11 from 3-point range.

Alex Andrews, Heather Johnson and Tiffany Moe scored 11 points apiece to lead Minnesota State

That's to bad. I hope they lose big in the first round. They are nowhere near as good as the Jacks 2003 team.

How in the heck would you know. Didn't that SDSU team lose to USD that year in 2003. Actually despite many free technical free throws that team still couldn't win in Vermillion. USD is 31-1 which I know is better than the record that the Jacks had. USD also didn't have to rely on a coin flip to get home court for the conference tourney and regional. USD won both the regional and conference tourney and finished undefeated in the NCC. Two out of those three things were not accomplished by that SDSU team. It's a long shot but if USD wins it all they will have to be considered the better all time team when comparing the two. The accomplishments would be better. Obviously without winning it all SDSU's team will be considered better. What USD has done so far is more impressive and for SDSU's fans to not realise that is just blatent bias. The Coyotes don't need to shoot well to win. They have been shooting below 40% for most of the regional and have still managed to win all the games.

Unless you have seen USD at least 4 times I wouldn't be so quick to judge. It tends to be a common theme amongst Jacks fans to be quick to judge when it comes to USD. No matter what USD does it won't be a good thing according to some Jacks fans.

Congrats Yotes - Bring home some hardware from Kearney

Meanwhile, get up to Brookings for a WNIT run by a team that willl have a great shot at a D-I title, and hopefully several games at home.

D-II is there for the taking, as the schools that made it tough are mostly moved up to D-I.

usd2 went 12-0 in a watered down NCC. Two of the all-time best NCC teams were not in the NCC this year. In 2003, you had to play 18 conference games. This years usd2 team is not as good as usd2 2003 team led by Koupal. Ask the Hoffman twins how they have fared against SDSU. Both games were blowouts early, as they still would. Keep living in your dream world.

If USD wins the National Championship they will be the best team in DII, no doubt.

                      BUT..........

The 2nd best team in South Dakota.

Enjoy the fun now Coyotes_Fan and then prepare yourself for transition hell!

What the heck, I hope the 'Yotes do well. It would provide a little bit of a boost for their program heading into transition much like us. I'm on record for wishing the 'Yotes well. My sense is that they will probably bow out early because the NCC is a mere shadow of itself in WBB and USD hasn't been there before. Hats off to them, they've had a heck of a season

Either way, don't kid yourself C_F, the Jacks win the game this year by 20+ in whatever gym you want to play it in!

Now it's time to get back to talking about real D1 basketball!

Good luck to the Coyotes in the Elite 8. I can't see how it's anything but good for South Dakota girls' and women's basketball if USD wins the thing. We're trying to put the state on the map. USD can help with that. And it looks like they've got a shot.
                          Holy nutmeg!

Thanks for the well wishes from some of you. I kind of believe that it takes alot of skill to get to the elite 8 but once you get there you have to be good and lucky to come home with the title.

Lets not get into comparisons because all it is, is speculation. SDSU will have it's post season excitement and USD will have their post season excitement. To each their own but could you imagine the hype around this state if both teams were to win their tournaments.
