    NCAA Tournament

I don't know who was calling the game for Westwood One Radio, but they repeatedly made the point that SDS was simply forcing Braun to his left. They said that his left hand ball skills were good enough to allow him to excel in the Summit, but a serious weakness against a top-level defense like he saw today. True or not, they kept mentioning that.

Braun was a hell of a player. Very difficult to replace, as will be Bjorklund and Wright. Classes like that one don't come along very often and you don't just plug in the new guys and roll (especially when they are not the only seniors). At least not at this level.

You don't get much better than that.
I felt he was mostly a great shooter who was able to get his shot becasue of how much teams had to focus on borkland. He could slash but not his strongest part of his game.

This has been put to the test.

There was a stretch of 10 games last year when Braun was out. Look up the results of those games. Being somebody that watched them, it wasn't pretty.

Braun leads the team in scoring, assists, rebounds and steals. His impact is all over the court, he was player of the year for a reason.

SDSU is the second best defensive team in the nation, not surprised he struggled. Everyone struggled tonight, they put on a clinic.

Yeah they were an impressive team. Long and athletic and very active. Was not a good matchup for the Bison.

Can't stand that other SDSU, hate Fisher all the way to Michigan. Hope they both lose in the next round.

Hes the class of the summit but mid majors win with a TEAM not an individual. See NDSU in the first round.....their team stepped up.

Braun is a great player but when good/great teams key on him they can shut him down

San Diego State forced him right most of the game.

NDSU was really fackin good this year. They drew a softer first round opponent than we did the last two years and the capitalized. Good for NDSU.

Yes, I had that turned around. I wish we could have shut him down so easily.

0h Skippy, shame on you. Steve is getting old. He told his team he was 69 years old and been their(Sweet Sixteen) before. That he has and the poor guy is showing his age. I would not be surprise he calls it quits after this year.

I was surprised they forced him that way. Thats his strong hand, but when you have the length SDSU has its tough to finish.

The announcer said at one point SDSU was not really all that big down low. Looked like they had about a half dozen 7 footers with the length they had.

I was surprised by how well San Diego State was able to defend the Bison.

I agree that Braun struggled more than I thought he would. He's a great player though...you won't find me disparaging him.

I think Wright's foul trouble was a problem. He was the one starter they had that could match the Aztecs size/athleticism. With him out, they were just a bit slower at each position...and not quite as athletic. Great run by the Bison though.

Now, the big question... does Saul Philips return?
