Latest rumor.. SDSU on the list of schools which he Colton did not get released to. Not sure what that all entails. If this is true could he still transfer but play w/ out a scholarship for a year?

the rumor is SDSU, NDSU as well as all Big 10 schools and maybe a few others are on a list that says he can't go to or they won't release him.

If true, I guess I take that as something of a back-handed complement to SDSU--even if the reason is just that the Jacks are on Minnesota's schedule for 2012-13 (when Iverson would be eligible for his senior season after sitting out a year). I know that the Big 10 has a conference rule that athletes won't be given releases to go to other Big 10 schools, so like I say, it winds up being a back-handed complement of sorts.
Iverson's have a ton of ties with USD. It would not surprise me to see him go there. But would be surprised if Minny put a hold on NDSU or SDSU.
supposedly Oregon (where teammate Joseph went) Colorado State, USD, UNI (no current scholarships but if things change), and Augie are the schools I'm hearing.
Here is the official word coming from Lance Freisen who was his AAU coach
Based on the conditions of his release, Iverson can't transfer to another Big Ten school or to a program that the Gophers face next season.
And before anybody brings it up, no it would not be smart to get out of a game with Minnesota, even if it meant going to the Tournament, on the business front. My guess is that the game with Minnesota nets over $50K. The Summit splits the revenue for the tournament among all schools, and each game you play in nets about $250K.
If he had 2 years eligibility however I'd consider it.
Though I do think its somewhat of a dick move blocking a school like SDSU or NDSU from the release list because you have them on the schedule.

He can still go but has to wait 2 years then.
You seem to be posting rumor this and rumor that about the above all over. Either site your source or many will think your full of ****. Or is this one of those I heard from so and so who hear from so and so?

its coming from numerous Twitter guys, all from the minnesota side of things. I had heard this "rumor" somewhat when I was home during spring break but didn't think much of it because of him going to be a senior.
here is the big one
@RyanJamesMN
but have also heard similar from @GopherHole and @DarrenWolfson
I said rumor because they weren't reporting it, they were saying things like we are hearing and other vague terms. When the report came out I stated it.

Never questioned he was being released from his scholarship as that was confirmed by many reliable sources. I was questioning all the projections about who Unive of Minnesota is allowing him to transfer too. Does that help you out?
