Had a snippet on the NPR morning edition about the UND Fighting Sioux nickname heading to the ballot, so Fox isn't alone in reporting.

Yeah its somewhere in the Dakota not sure of which of which one.

So I was reading headlines on my blackberry from the fox news website. Turns out the university of south dakota has enough signitures to put the nick name for the fight sioux on the ballot measure. It made me chuckle reading it said south dakota. North dakota can't get it figured out so I guess south dakota has to help also.

FAIR AND BALANCED - FOX NEWS. What really did happen was the restore the nick name and logo committe got 15,000 signatures and the issue will be on the June ballot along with choicing primary political candidates. yeah it happened in one of the Dakotas so says the fox news writer. "not sure which one, but we got bigger fish to fry".

Crap like this is why I'm glad UND is getting a new name...

Roebuck referred to NDSU fans as “racist blowhards,” apparently in response to NDSU chanting “Sioux suck” in a welcome home celebration from NDSU’s Division I Football Championship Subdivision national title.

i agree with zoo, zero chance summit lets them back.

this is just stupid, i hope the und hockey fans get their way, they get kicked out of big sky and ncaa and they play naia and hockey in canadian league.

lakes? Is that you? He's the only one that calls UND racists. He also has the annoying habit of never capitalizing. The only thing wrong with it, is I see he agrees with zooropa......That being said, I completely disagree with both of you. All fences can be mended. You can not discount the value that UND would have to the Summit. 4 strong state institutions in one mid major conference? It is a mid major conferences dream, especially the Summit.

I thought the old logo was out as of the first of the year. Turned on the third period of the Gopher - UND hockey game and the same old logo is on the UND jerseys.

Supposedly they've ordered new jerseys but they're back ordered. At least that's what was mentioned in the Grand Forks Herald this morning. I doubt the hockey program is pushing their suppliers very hard to get the order filled.
