Interesting information about Wegher from Mick Garry.

He would have sit out next year if he transfers to a FCS school as well.
Mick may have the rule accurate but the situation makes me wonder if the rules aren't completely thrown out. He did not play a down and was not part of the team, he transferred and it was deemed ineligible. So until an actual report comes out saying what he is doing and what he can do I'm not going to rule anything out.

Joe it doesn't matter if he didn't play a down for a year. He had to be in residence for a year at the school he was transferring to and obviously he was not. The NCAA has made exceptions to that rule but nearly always there are other considerations like an ill family member or something similar. He just chose not to play so I don't think he deserves an exception to the rule.

I get that part in why he wasn't eligible at Oklahoma. What I'm wondering is if since the transfer was deemed ineligible if the 1 time transfer won't be counted. Just a guess though.
