I'm just curious where he read that since I haven't seen anything close to that anywhere in print or on the internet.

I've heard the same rumor about the runningback's sister. FYI, he doesn't have a sister.

You should know this stuff. You're from Iowa. You know the WHOLE story!

You are certainly entitled to that opinion. Counterpoint, I am certain many of our current players and players from the past have had issues similar to and much more concerning than the rumors we are discussing in this thread. Many of those same individuals contributed great things to their perspective programs despite the error of their ways.

So, as much as it may seem important for fans to discuss the personal lives of student athletes and share our opinions regarding their misgivings, ultimately we must admit that it is well outside of proper bounds.

SDSU had kids on our basketball team just a short while ago who were accused and acquitted of rape. One of them came back and played for us the next season. I don't remember posters freaking out then, despite the fact that there were some pretty immoral things going on there.
When did I say it was bad? I just said I think people are cofusing the two, I am not judging what he did do, just that he made other descisions that affected him from being able to play football, maybe he will have to work to pay for his choices and never play again, who knows. So college is one big sex party with everyone your saying? Thats what your making it sound like. Step back take a second and know its not a bad discussion to say a kid may have made critical choices that affected his future.

If I remember, many people were upset about the rape charges and the whole aftermath that followed. I was at SDSU as a student when that happened, I remember it somewhat.

Would rather have 5-6 seasons than to have a bunch of undisciplined jerks running around campus!!

Since you are in Iowa you have no idea what kind of people are running around campus. (Amidoinitrite?)

(And for the record, I really don't care what kind of people they are as long as they win football games. I know I am in the minority in that respect.)

If the pro game wants to have criminals or trouble makers or low character people thats fine, and I am not saying Wegher is that so people do not jump on that i think he is a awful kid, but at the college level, I applaud coaches who care more about supporting good kids then win at all costs. Thats why I love coach K and can not stand Calapari a sell out, who has violations everywhere he has been. Certain standards should be met on and off the field of play.

I'm just saying we all shouldn't be throwing stones. There are a lot of things that go on in college. For some in college, it is a big sex party.

I absolutely agree the kid made bad choices. My problem (not with you specifically) is that it doesn't appear he did anything criminal but some people are looking at him as worse than a criminal.

Yes, people were upset with the basketball situation. I don't remember anyone saying Berte shouldn't be a part of the basketball team after he was legally cleared of criminal behavior.

It should be noted, that those two things aren't mutually exclusive as proved by NDSU's recent 3 win season and personnel problems.

I dont recall I threw a stone. Franky I think we should adopt a no stone throwing policy. I feel standards should be met on and off the field, but have not really said weather he should or not be moving to a new school. If in fact he has several kids to take care of, it could be that he could not commit to the team. Berry was a young father and great student, but if he was not able to fulfill his duties to the team, that would have been a problem IMO, thats were the problem lies.

If Berte Was not able to perform with the team do to any distractions, it would have been a probelm, or if a current team member was in a court case, thats the problem, after he was cleared he was fine to rejoin. Wegher could be a good addtion, but could also have a hard time commiting to the team because of his personal choices he has made.

Its never a one or the other choice, But when I hear about recruits that are good kids, thats a good start, hopefully they continue that way, if they make bad choices, that is where the seperation lies, what is the issue on a individual bases. Would people rather have a guy like Wegher on the team or or guys with legal issues like NDSU had? either can happen anyway anywhere.

We made the playoffs last year, I dont remember hearing about a bunch of problem kids either. So maybe good character kids can win too. hmmm.
