Originally posted by Nidaros View PostRowdy has the right prediction. If the the yes gets 45 percent I would be surprised. There are numerous retired folks who have no interest in athletics or events, they just dont want their property tax to go up.
Anyways Yes:51% No:49%. 50% turnout. I almost feel the 50% is too small. I think this vote is bigger than you think. If it's less, then my belief in the lethargic attitude of the American voter is restored......With fans like this who needs enemas.....

The city is paying this, it's the second penny tax which we already have and is not going up, because other projects the city has funded are finished. In short the taxes remain the same.

Originally posted by LakeJack View PostHow can they? Theee Catrabbit is right this vote has nothing to do with property taxes. No ones taxes will go up. The only question is how will the city spend sales tax dollars that Sioux Falls is already collecting. Will they use those tax dollars to replace an outdated and warn out arena or for something else.
I think it passes 54%-46%

A few years back,I recall one SDSU alum living in SF really bad mouthing the Pavilion project and how it would eventually lead to higher property tax. If I were to take the negative side of this issue, I would broadcast all these unfounded fears and get the no vote out. I think there are people who are quietly doing this and it might show up at the ballot box. I am by and large neutral leaning but towards yes and its been some time since I bought anything in SF, so far the EC has not cost me a nickel.
Either site would work as far as I am concerned and SDSU does have a dog in this fight if we are to increase following amongst non alums.
