The new Weary Wil* statue was unveiled Friday before Hobo Day. For those who have not been on campus lately, Wil (he's about eight-and-a-half feet tall!) and his dog are taking it all in stride on the north side of the Student Union. He's immediately to the north of the portion of the new addition which houses the Bummobile.

Note the story refers to some hidden surprises provided by the sculptor.
It's a great rendition of a unique part of SDSU: Many claim SDSU is the only university with a mascot specific to its homecoming day. The look on Wil's face is priceless...the guy's an optimist as he strolls down the walk, his possessions all contained in the bag tied to the end of a stick.
* Is the spelling Wil or Will? I see it both ways on university news items. Wil seems to be used most of the time. Maybe his name spelling is getting to be like Hobo Day or Days....
