Re: UNI - Baseball
Wow, two more close ones, which only count in horse shoes and hand grenades.
I do love the spirit of this team and where our coach is taking us. Lets face it we are still playing with a roster that was recruited for a tough D2 schedule.
Every time I have heard Coach Reggie on the Rabbit Report and elsewhere, he has mentioned defense as being the vulnerable area for the team. So I am sure that has to be important from a recruiting standpoint as well as from a playing standpoint. Next year it can only get better.
Given Coach Ekland's health situation and the one year of an interim coach, it left Coach Reggie with a challenge which even the best coach could never turn around completely. There are probably a number of guys on the current roster that are not at the playing level they should be or would have been if we had a healthy Mark Ekland as coach during this whole time. I would wholly agree with 89rabbit in that these two things have slowed progress.
