At recent State/U games, I've caught myself reminiscing about the good ol' D2 days, and I can't help but feel that the rivalry has not elevated to where it used to be yet.

The SD Corn Showdown Series may not bring the rivalry back to its former glory by itself, but its exposure certainly can't hurt.

Work prohibits social media like youtube, but this just screams for the "Animal House" scene "We need the dues" selection of the pledges.

Anything that enhances getting the whole state active and caring about the sports at SDSU is a good thing. It's also good to rebuild the rivalry, as long as avoids the blind hatred.

With that said, won't see me in Vermillion & Cream. (Blue and Yellow are so much better).

With the split in track and field, this year's showdown is SDSU 15, USD 6. Academics haven't been figured into the equation as of today, 5/17/14. http://sdcornshowdown.com/

Not much of a "showdown" this year. Bringing a 300m indoor track into the fold next year should give our T&F program a big boost.

The benefits of the new indoor facility and some people returning from taking a redshirt year bode well for the Jacks.

Still, the Showdown to me is no better than a "meh!" but if there's going to be Corn Showdown, we may as well continue winning by margins like 15-6!

Amen. Since it's a SDSU sponsor, I tend to think USD will raise the white flag first. Is there more than a trophy to the winner? Like a booster contribution?
