  • Has anyone heard anything about the new commit? It's strange to have this announced and then to have nobody come forward.

      • Always good to pick up another South Dakotan. It will be interesting to see what he can be. He's had a pretty good summer so far and he should have a big senior year.

        • I noticed a man named Hunter McCall wrestling for the JWC this weekend. He's a Michigan state champ at 215. Any word on this kid? Is he a recruit? A greyshirt? A member of the RTC? What is he doing in Brookings?

According to this article, he's at SDSU. Might be greyshirting at JWC since he's not on the roster

I have a theory that the person who tweets out a recruit is generally the person who recruited them. I think Hahn does a lot of stuff with Minnesota and some of the bigger name wrestlers around the country. There's a junior 160 from Oklahoma named Chance Davis who Hahn follows and Hahn follows very few high-schoolers. That's my guess, but it's very much a shot in the dark.

The way his tweet sounds, he isn't in school in Brookings yet, so can he be eligible for this season ? "Next season I will be transferring To South Dakota State University to wrestle for Coach Hahn !"

Fresno State is cutting their program after this year and this year doesn't count against any wrestler's eligibility

Nevills will have 2 years of eligibility remaining when he gets here next fall. Wolters will more than likely graduate this year and since this year doesn’t count towards your eligibility, Trenary will still be a redshirt freshman eligibility wise next fall and have 2 years as the starter if he can’t beat Nevills while he is in Brookings.
