The Jackrabbits face a strong test in the Lady Hilltoppers.

Arnika Brown, fresh off her guilty plea to 16 misdemeanor counts associated with her counterfeiting charges (with NO punishment), is a rebounding machine inside. While only 6-1, she can jump out of the gym. Brown doesn't play great defense other than constantly working to get in position to grab the next rebound.

Dominique Duck is an athletic wing player who is strong defensively but is a turnover machine. She still is struggling to return to any offensive form after tearing her ACL in April (?) of 2008.

Kenzie Rich is Western's three point threat. But she isn't going to scare anyone defensively.

Western is very excited about one of their freshmen, Courtney Clifton. This game will be her first real test, but she has played very well for Western in the early part of this season.

I'm torn who I want to win this game. Western is obviously a conference mate of Middle TN. A strong OOC win helps our entire conference. But Lady Raider fans despise Western. And since SDSU is a OOC foe for the Lady Raiders, I can justify my rooting for the Wabbits in that it helps the Lady Raiders more in the short term if SDSU has a better record when we face you.

So GO WABBITTS!!!

Middle TN is clearly a step ahead of Western right now. The Lady Raiders are 7-3 against Western since Rick Insell took over the program in the 05-06 season. And several other teams (most notably UALR) are pressing Western for second best and several teams passed the Lady Toppers last season.

The Lady Toppers lack overall discipline from the top. See my previous statement about Arnika Brown for any proof you need. How a coach lets a player continue with NO punishment after she pleads guilty to 16 misdemeanor counts is beyond me.

Two seperate thoughts. The team looks absolutely lost for considerable stretches on offense. Very disjointed. Listen to the post game.

Sunnarborg needs to get much tougher on defense and rebounding. She is getting pushed to far under the basket and outmuscled for rebounds. She has looked better in the last few minutes.

Geez do we need to make an adjustment for the back door cuts.
