      Re: Gonzaga GDT

When I checked it was just the South Dakota State that been fixed.

Must have used a file photo. I don't know if the shooter is Shives, but the defender is no Jackrabbit.

        Congratulations on the win.
Definitely a file photo. Given the jersey color of the shooter it was probably at a Gonzaga home game, and given the jersey # it was probably Janelle Bekkering not Tiffanie Shives. If the original story referred to y'all as South Dakota they must have corrected it, because it says South Dakota State now.

Oh Oh, there goes our opportunity to sneak up on Ariz. State come tommorrow, but the publicty we got is well worth it.Come to think of it, it's the idea of becomming like UConn or Tenn or any of the top 25.They don't sneak up on anyone, they just say "were comming to do battle, so bring your best game"After Gonzaga,& last yr's team, we've just about have reached that level of confidence, so a shout out to the rest of the schedule....prepare yourselves, cause here we come.

I 'spect that, unlike his 'where to be on Nov. 13' prediction, that's one he'd like to have back.

Not that Gonzaga belongs too far from #1, but SDSU should be a few pegs up from #6.

Like i said, my lack of spelling, I was not using spell checker when I'm at work. i would guess you knew what the point i was trying to make.

Terry's argus article on the game:

SDSU women outlast Gonzaga in overtime
Boever scores 21; Jacks win opener
                        Terry Vandrovec - November 14, 2009

BROOKINGS - It was the season opener, but the postseason might as well have been on the line based on the way two mid-major powers hustled and tussled Friday night at Frost Arena.

South Dakota State and Gonzaga staged early-season classic, with the Jackrabbits overcoming a 13-point deficit to earn a 75-71 overtime victory before an inspired crowd of 3,152.

The contest between defending conference champs - clubs that reached the second round of the NCAA tournament last year and are knocking on the door of the top 25 poll - was as good as advertised. It was marked by big shots and great stops, and SDSU found a way to do a little more on each end of the floor, outscoring the Bulldogs by nine after halftime and forcing turnovers on five straight possessions late in the extra session.
