I also think that the first half of the Summit Championship scared the seeding folks. Fair or unfair that is how it works when your conference isn't very good and you haven't made a true name for yourself.
    1) I don't think the loss to Oakland cost us '3 or 4' spots. Maybe, by the end of the season it cost us one or two.

    2) I would love to know how many committee members saw that game.

I imagine not alot of the committee members saw that game. That is what the problem could have been with the loss. I know that there was at least one member at that game. I remember TV talking about it. But all the committee sees is a loss on the schedule to a team that was barely in the top 100.

each committee member is assigned one or two conferences . . . if I recall correctly the committee member for the Summit was at the Oakland loss, and possibly some others as well.

Determination, drive and commitment... three huge components to next years S.D. Jackrabbits women's basketball team...

It's going to be a long summer /fall before "NEXT YEAR " starts & becomes this year. Are we going to be playing the same style of ball? I think, depending of course, if any of the newcommers are red shirted are not, we'll be quicker , maybe more into forcing turnovers/ steals than last year, hoping to stir up, pick the brains of more "knowlegable" posters on what if any changes do you think there will be between this years & next years teams.I think we'll have a very good team regardless of what style of ball we'll play next year...some of the other Summit league teams had good recruiting years also, but not as good as ours in my opinion.A lot of them also lose very good players also due to graduation, so, wonder if the final standings next year will look like .Have to wait for the coaches pre-season picks to come out I guess.

Do you think AJ told the team to stay in shape this summer, or do you think it might mean that the team will be more up-tempo next year? They were pretty up-tempo last year as a matter of fact.Remember reading of complaints by gopher fans how we constantly out ran them in transition for easy lay ups. They said something like they seemed slow footed compared to us & how our players looked lean & fit compared to thiers.Ketty proves that a lot of that is a self motivated , dedicated , work ethic, by the individual to strive to be the best they can.Next years team will be awesome with that kind of senior leadership & dedication.!

Great basketball players are "made" in the summer. This is the time to work yourself harder than ever. No need to conserve energy for gameday.

[quote=JimmyJack;117170]I think we're going to go even deeper into the bench next year than this year. I don't expect another 3-loss season, but I'm thinking the potential is there to be every bit as good as this team by the end of the year, once the new players are worked into the rotation. They'll be different, but possibly just as good.

It'll be very interesting to watch AJ work out the rotations next year. There might be some early bumps in the road. But come tourney time, we should be a very deep, tough team.[/quote

Like we were this year, it was simply amazing how they took apart TCU, the word "clinic" was used, & it started the same way against Baylor, then something happened, we went into a scoring drought (sp) & let them catch up, which gave them confidence enough to win the game.Heard the comments that they shot so poorly when they were down & were still in the game at half, i think basketball is a lot mental....it has up's & down's, ebbs& flow's to it.I'm proud that when they caught up(Baylor) we didn't just fold up camp & panic, we hung tough, got a few small leads even, i think the awareness of our players playing with numerous fouls affected to some extent thier ability to play as aggresively as they would have liked,maybe....maybe.... maybe, the thing is, we learned a lot from our experiences & we will be better next year because of them.

I think we have more than enough talent coming back from this year's team that will only be helped from the experiences jackdaniel mentions to help make us even stronger by post season next year. This year's experience can only be a positive for us.

We will be hard pressed to match this year's OOC. We're off to a good start with the Junkeroo Jam, Utah, WKU, Gonzaga on the schedule. Hope there's some Big 10/12/East or SEC also. Upper MoValley (Creighton?/UNI) would be good too.
The tougher the better, that's what people look at ,& that's what makes a team better.

From JackDaniel: I don't expect another 3-loss season,

Based on our opponents to date, we could be a 3X-3 again next season. So far, only U VA is likely to be a top 30 pre-season. Utah will be a year strong, and bringing back the MWC best team, and it's in Ogden. Gonzaga, UNI and WKU are in Brookings. Hope we can work out some 1-n-1 home/home with Big 12 or Big 10 LEADERS. Would love to get Purdue on in to Brookings.

Don't you mean that the Utah game will be in Salt Lake City?
