    Re: Selection Show

4-1 vs teams a dancing. I hope that we see the Jacks beat U MD in Raleigh. I'd much rather see the Jacks in Lubbock with no host, as opposed to going in as a 6 to Columbus, OH, and face #3 Buckeyes. Although it's a shame that K St. is in the same conference as Baylor, and had to keep those two from meeting earlier.

Interesting to get the #3 MWC as at large.

      Re: Selection Show

I have a few minor gripes at the moment:

      1. A work conflict with the games. Yeah, I can record 'em and watch when I get home, but do you know how hard it will be to not be on this board following along Sunday night? This is way too important ... the tape can wait ... I'll be here!

      2. I see one of our Sioux Falls TV stations has once again called us "Lady Jackrabbits" in a headline on their homepage, and in their newsbreak that just aired. Anybody else think a gentle, educational e-mail before the 10:00 news is warranted?

      3. There was an institution of higher learning on the plains of South Dakota long before there was one in sunny Southern California. Can't we pull rank and make 'em change their name so there's only one, rightfully named SDSU?

Anyway, back on topic. My .02, for what they're worth ...

Like others, I'm a little disappointed in the seed and the region. Then again, considering we are a mid-major, from a conference that's not exactly a powerhouse, making our first appearance in the tournament, I think it's fair.

We've earned an awful lot of respect from around the country the last few years -- this year especially. I'm confident we'll go down there, play Jackrabbit basketball, make some noise in this regional -- one game at a time -- and earn even more respect!

I'm sooooo looking forward to this tournament!

Go BIG! Go BLUE! GO JACKS!!!

        Re: Selection Show

On the SDSU vs. SDSU thing.

The -other- SDSU is pretty old (established in 1897), although still 16 years younger than the =real= SDSU.

It became the -other- SDSU in 1970 (the -real- SDSU got its name in 1964)

BTW: Does someone want to cook up a better Wikipedia entry for SDSU?

If any one of you can find a decent flight time to Lubbock for a possible Sunday/Tuesday game please let me know. I can't find one.

By decent I mean under $750 with a departure time Saturday late or Sunday early and a return time Tuesday late (impossible) or Wednesday early. I can't find **** and I've been looking.

Best I can find is out of Omaha at 6 am Saturday and back to Omaha 10:30 am Wednesday for $533. I'd rather leave early Sunday but I can't find that option.

            Re: Selection Show

I really fail when trying to find anything good about this draw for fans. I've been to Lubbock by car, bus and van but never by plane, now I know why. I imagine its similar but even worse than trying to fly into Sioux Falls (never thought I'd say that).

            Filbert,

Where can we meet in Kansas City for a car pool trip to Lubbock? Let me know, I'm in.

              Re: Selection Show

as I am sooooooo not in the rich crowd that I charter things, I have no idea what this might cost... but I was just wondering... has anyone looked into what it would cost to charter a bus or plane? Or contacted the airline in sioux falls, Allegant? I think to see if it would be possible to get a flight added if SDSU fans would book all the tickets?

I don't even know if it is possible... but was just wondering

To get to Lubbock, try flying Southwest to Amarillo and renting a car to drive to Lubbock.

My husband and I are SDSU alums living in Lubbock, TX. Lubbock has a nice airport that is serviced by American, Southwest, and now Delta. There are several flights everyday on Southwest from Dallas. I don't know about availability but there are options for flying to Lubbock. If you can get a flight your best bet is driving to Omaha and flying Southwest to Lubbock (through Dallas/Love).

Almost no availability for flights on Southwest from Denver or Dallas to Lubbock. The only scenario I can come up with is flight into Dallas Saturday night and then over to Lubbock Sunday morning. I can do that if I have to.

It looks like SDSU and Tennessee should have had their seeding swapped . . . Tennessee is trailing Ball State 59-51 with about four minutes to play.
