Re: Oakland University Saturday Night
when the rabbits are on their game they cannot be stopped. if we face ou again I dont think they will stop the ladies. OU really did not have a plan tonight. Jacks did pretty much what they wanted. some sloppy passing at times gave ou some points but what a game. all I can say is TRIPPENDICULAR awesome

Re: Oakland University Saturday Night
hey ColoradoJack if the updates are lacking in detail its because I was so into this game it was hard to give accurate posts. the replay should be on gojacks.com soon and if you can watch it. not the best played game, but it was close to really good and it was awesome to see our ladies play their game. I don't think Oakland knew how to defense them. Wark with 29 and another double double was player of the game.

Re: Oakland University Saturday Night
Just got back from the game (babysitter could only go to 7:30 p.m.) My impression?
Worst.
Referees.
Ever.
There were what, 50 fouls called, and I'd say about 25 of them were touch fouls. And then there's the blocking foul on Muck 20 feet from the basket (wrong) where the ref said the Oakland player was shooting... 20 feet from the basket on the drive, shoulder down... she was shooting? As Steve Imming might say: "Wow."
Mostly, though, they were equally bad for both teams, destroying the flow of the game, taking the crowd out of it, and generally making it an awful game to watch. You'd think the league would want to be sure it had a good crew at a game involving the top two teams in the league. Two of these three looked like they had never seen a D1 game before. Note to refs: Sometimes, in big games involving top-80 RPI teams, there will be contact between players. Not every touch is a foul.
It was just awful. I know that the players are supposed to adjust, but at some point, they can't adjust. They're just playing defense, moving their feet, and getting called for breathing on the opponent. Neither team was well served by that awful officiating crew. We've talked about this problem before. The Summit needs to improve its officiating if it's ever going to be a solid, mid-major league.
Great crowd, though. Jill Young's rebound and three off her own missed free throw was the highlight, I'd say. That really got the crowd going.Holy nutmeg!

Re: Oakland University Saturday Night
Details were perfect!
While reading your posts, all I can think about is famous announcers giving me your text! "Havlicek stole the ball; Havlicek stole the ball!!!!"
Just wish you and I coulda been one of the 5600 at the game! I gave my SD friends and family my personal invite to attend for me however.
Great game Jen and great turnout and outcome.
