I agree and already have my tickets in hand for most of the games this season. However, if it's going to be a practice and we're not going to try and win then lets not schedule a team within an hours distance away. That's just asinine.

Jackrabbits have sights set on NCAA tourney berth

BROOKINGS - Compared to last year, the South Dakota State women's basketball team is deeper, more experienced and its best players are better.

Also, the Jackrabbits are familiar with the Summit League - having won the regular-season title by a whopping four games in their first tour of the 10-team league - and will essentially host the conference tournament in Sioux Falls in their first year of NCAA Division I championship eligibility.

"Well, it sounds like it should go well," senior forward Jenn Warkenthien said with a smile. "But anything can happen."

Is it Big Dance or bust in Year 1 of eligibility?

"I feel like we have a team that is capable of playing in the NCAA tournament, no question," Johnston said. "But I don't feel like there's any particular game or event we have to play in or the season is wasted or not important. What we're going to have to understand is those conference tournaments are unbelievably difficult and the teams that win and the teams that are supposed to win are rarely the same."
