[quote author=joeboo22 link=1174617908/15#27 date=1174694054]I checked on some picks of there Arena its nice and big.. I think Oklahoma's arena is similar.. Only thing I don't like about it is it appears that the fans are aways from the court.. At Frost your right on top of the court.. Might actually be good considering where the visiters..
It's nicer than OU's arena.

I think he meant to say "Might actually be good considering we are the vistors".

Possibly? It is hard to understand his posts. Filbert or 89 can we invest in a spell checker so people can check their spelling before they post? [smiley=thumbsup.gif].

You quit stalking SDSU athletics long enough to post that?

Check the grammar also.
BROOKINGS - The decision makes dollars and sense, yet South Dakota State University associate athletic director Rob Peterson couldn't help but wonder if he made a misstep in the bidding process.
After selling out Frost Arena for their first two WNIT games, breaking the program attendance record twice in six days and bringing organizer Triple Crown Sports the second and third largest turnouts of the tournament, how could the Jackrabbits be sent on the road for Sunday's quarterfinal?
"I asked them if there was anything that we did that would have prevented it and they said obviously not, they loved the atmosphere, they watched the game online last night and said it was incredible," Peterson said of Triple Crown, which receives both the bid and a portion of any profits from WNIT games.
"The biggest problem was Wyoming's bid includes a certainty for 10,000 people."
Actually, the biggest problem is having the tournament's two attendance queens in the same half of the bracket. SDSU (25-5) and Wyoming (24-9), with just one home loss each this season, have accounted for the top four turnouts in the tournament, while the four third-round games on the other side of the bracket drew a combined 5,534 fans. Considering the "projected" attendance, is it safe to assume that Wyoming probably bid at least $75-90K for the right to host tomorrow's game?
There is a kid in my goverment class thats from Wyoming and has played in the AA and said it's one of the toughest places to play in. You're playing at 7,200 ft and are playing in a bowl and alot of players get real dizzy. He played a state tournament there and said he got real dizzy and most of the players he talked to said the same thing.... He knows one of the cowgirl players personally and when he talked to her she said that UW's goal is 10-12,000.....

The altitude is tough, no doubt. Oregon didn't seem to struggle, though, and they're coming from lower altitude than we are (430 feet versus 1647 feet here). These are elite athletes. They'll no doubt struggle, but they've got reserves that most of us don't.
Personally, I spent a few days in Laramie and was sick the whole time (felt like a bad hangover). So I know what your buddy is talking about.
With Easter right around the corner, it is a good time to be a rabbit.
Oh yeah, and then there is the South Dakota State basketball thing.
Just as a rabbit is one of the symbols of the upcoming holiday, the SDSU women's basketball team has become a shining symbol of our state. The Jackrabbit are taking themselves, their university and this state on the ride of our lives with their progress in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
After beating the Indiana Hoosiers in front of 6,053 fans at Frost Arena in Brookings on Thursday, the Jacks have now advanced to the fourth round, or the Elite Eight. SDSU (25-5) will play Wyoming (24-9) at 3 p.m. CST Sunday in Laramie. On Thursday, host Wyoming beat Oregon 64-62 on junior Hannah Zavecz's layup with six seconds left in front of a school-record crowd of 7,362 fans. The Wyoming-SDSU game will be on WNAX 570-AM Radio. . . . (read more)
Being ten deep will get them through any altitude problems. Plus, like what has been said, these girls are elite athletes that train year around not only on the their basketball skills, but also conditioning. I do not think that the altitude will be a big factor in the game at all. These young women have seemed to have mastered a important key to a successful life over the last few years. Over coming adversity.

With an elevation of 7,220 feet, the Wyoming basketball teams have always enjoyed playing on the "Highest Courts" in the nation. Built in 1982 at a cost of $15 million, the Arena-Auditorium is one of the most beautiful basketball arenas in America. . . . (read more)
I don't know. It doesn't look like the best place to watch a game to me. I'm curious to hear what everyone says about the arena. It looks more suited for rodeos to me with the circular seating.
