Buekers just absolutely took over the game. No defense possible for her in the second quarter.

Brooklyn's ankle looked nasty on replay.

i have turned my ankle literally hundreds of times, and had players turn at least that many. I have never seen any ankle injury that made it impossible to finish the game. you redo the tape. make it good and tight and lace your shoe a bit tighter and you are good to go the same night, while everything is warm

it is the morning after that is murder

I NEVER understand why or how major college and professional players are unable to finish a game after a turned ankle. even a very very severe one

ONCE AGAIN, very unfortunately, we have the short curly haired female ref. HOW does she ref 99% of our games? if we have to have one ref for every game, why couldnt it be a decent one. She is in the argument for the worst BB official I have ever seen. that includes 20 years of seeing high school refs

the charge on MM was beyond terrible. notice today that Lobo is not pointing out the bad calls that go against the Jacks

does MM have 2 fouls? we really needed her on the floor. our scoring slowed WAY DOWN when she went out

they really are only playing one big. I would move Brooklyn (if she comes back) to the elbow and let Mesa post up one of their guards

I've been trying to figure out the Mesa foul on Buekers. There was a momentary touch on the arm but it didn't impede Buekers at all, so where's the foul? (Shrug)

Jacks just aren't at the same athletic level as UConn. Fundamentals, yes the Jacks are excellent, but athletic ability matters.

but it is not too much to ask for competent officials when you make it to the final 32 teams in the country

If it weren't for all the fouls, we probably would have won the first Quarter.We've had way too many key players out due to fouls or injury in the first half. What about Fox , can she get hot from 3, she seems like a streak shooter once she hits one or two ( so is Vlastuin). Don't really know how well she's (they) been playing of late though. Down 15 at half is not out normally , but against UConn, once they smell blood in the water, it might be. Expect the Jacks to fight til the end though, they always do.

Does there have to be a real foul for them to call one ? You are 100% correct in your observation.

i pointed out that somehow we have the displeasure of seeing the same terrible ref in over half of our games. which i very much think could be true. we literally have her all the time

and i pointed out a bad charge call against MM, which it was

never said a word about the refs being the reason for us being behind on the scoreboard

Paige Buekers is far and away the reason we are losing the game. we were having a great game until she got tired of waiting for her teammates and decided to take over

I saw a Zimmer tweet that the SDSU band played the National Anthem before the game and got a good response from the UConn crowd.
