  • GDT: Jackrabbits vs Huskies 7pm Gampel Pavillion ESPN NCAA Tournament

The Huskies are around 26.5 point favorite for tonight's game. 136.5 is the O/U. UConn certainly showed their stuff against Arkansas St as they ran away from those poor women. Geno may need to wait awhile before he can play as deep into the bench as he did Saturday when he handed out 93 bench minutes compared to 56 minutes against Creighton in the Big East final 70-50 win. We can expect UConn to want to speed the game up with their speed and transition game. The Huskies shoot 51% from the field. They also average +6.8 boards/game and 21 assists/game. It will be a steep hill for the Jackrabbits where they will need to keep the offensive game flow to their pace and play defense as they are able to keep the game winnable to the end. Go Jacks!!

I have been looking forward to this tournament for two years now. The first round was great, I am pumped for the second round. If your gonna knock off a big dog, it may as well be one of the REALLY big ones. The women's tourney needs a big upset, Jackrabbits at your service.
One hand points to campus...the other to the liquor store.

Here is the freshman star who leads in FG%, rebounds, assists, & 2nd in scoring for the Huskies. She has basketball genetics.

Would think this probably will be the most viewed women's basketball game we've ever played which is saying something for the stages we've been on before. No men's games tonight, UConn, ESPN in prime time. Hoping our women can rise to the occasion and continue to prove themselves again and again!

Another Toby Fournier of Duke, both 6'2" , but Strong is stockier, but just as athletic, can jump and quick, we have to watch our passing. Go time, all the planning is done, Go Jacks !!!

Got to box out on every shot or it goes right back up & in for two more 2nd chance points.

my guess is that we begin the game

                Brooklyn guarding the 6'5 Freshman
                Paige guarding the 5'9 guard
MM and Timmie on Buekers and Fudd- dont see where who is on who really matters
                and Mesa on Strong

I think Mesa is one of the most underrated players we have ever had. today is her day. she could not dream of a bigger opportunity to do something huge for her team

I know it would be a huge task, BUT I DO believe that we could win the rebound battle or at the very least keep it very close. that would be my number one goal.

number 2 would be single digit TOs

number 3 would be zero quick shots unless you have a clear path to the hoop. reverse the ball EVERY possession and try to get post touches on most of the possessions. make them play D

NONE of that or ALL of that still would not come close to guaranteeing us a win, but if we could do a reasonable job of those items, I think we would be very happy with our effort no matter the final score

This UConn team has incredible high number of rated recruits… I counted five #1 nationally rated recruits out of high school, six more rated between #4 and #7…Plus many of them have played in the World Cup and won the gold… This is insane but that’s what UConn has normally for players!!!

a quote from aj yesterday or the past conference was about teams basically playing 4 halves with the media timeout, so you can use players a bit more.

that charge/block early on was a fun one. Didn't know what they were going to call. Bench was confident it was charge. Announcers not so much

The end of the 1Q couldn’t come soon enough.

                              BM is rattled.
