  • GDT: Jackrabbits vs Mavericks 25 minutes after Qfinal #1 Premier Center SLN/Midco

Omaha had a great first quarter against Denver to get the win of the play-in game. They did a solid job of getting the defense back to stop the transition game. Omaha will need that again this afternoon to slow down the Jackrabbits. The Jackrabbits put up 93 points on Omaha in both regular season games. The Omaha defense offered some full court pressure to Denver which will not likely be in the game plan today with P Meyer handling the ball. The Mavs went 7 deep with freshman Ford & sophomore Powell bringing solid stat lines. The game today will bring a much more vocal crowd compared to the 3900 sitting on their hands yesterday. Go Jacks!!

Vasecka seen in the jackswbb video with walking boot, so presumably safe to say we won't see her today. Don't think I saw crutches which is a good sign

Vlastuin with an aptly-timed trey to put Jacks up 13-10, but Mavs do same to tie it

Some bad turnovers and bad defensive rotations by the Jacks giving Omaha a boost.

Fox, Theisen, and Vlastuin have had some good games today. Everyone else looks a bit sluggish.

They brought some energy for sure, both on offense and defense.

39-24 Jacks at halftime. Closed out that half really well.

announcers going on at length about mavs not fouling. they should be saying not getting called for fouls. they are absolutely hip checking Brooklyn every time she touches the ball and calling invisible fouls against her. #24 for the Mavs is just a human wrecking ball. bashing into someone every 5 to 10 seconds

Omaha keeps pace with the Jacks through the third. 61-47, Jacks.

Jacks played really well, but didn't get any additional separation.

                    Definitely seems that way.

Vlastuin with her 3rd trey to get Jacks additional separation. Up 70-51 with 7:56 left.

I texted my parents that #24 was irking me a few minutes into game.

DEFINITELY Irksome!! her fellow post from Australia played a similar style. it feels like the Mavs said, Hey these guys beat us 2x this year by an average of almost 40. lets NOT get out physicaled anywhere on the floor cuz we got nothing to lose

at times it looked a little bit lack luster, but I thought we really played well today. AWESOME contributions from Kallie and Maddy V. very nice first half from Fox. really a bummer not having Katie V, but it is opening some opportunities for some other kids

Seemed like the bald ref, in particular, heard from the commish to not let it get out of hand.

I'm joking of course. But there were definitely some interesting calls one way, that were non calls the other.

                          But whatever. Good first game.

"whatever," seems to be exactly what the girls say. they just keep on keeping on no matter what scenario gets thrown at them. EIGHT players scored at least 7 points today. really really impressive.

It was a rugby match for the Mavs. What they lacked in talent, they made up for in punches. They went from physical to cheap shots.
