We saw another game that P Meyer was a huge force. 9 assists and 15 points made for domination. She only had 1 turnover for the 31 minutes of play. It was a solid road win for the team.

Good game for the ladies. Really walled up and protected the paint. KT looked better which is good, she needs to be a threat and tonight she finished the way we need her to. KV missed 3 bunnies which is unusual. We played a little too timid against their zone. Paige finally started attacking it and we pulled away getting some bunnies off that penetration. Didn’t come out in the 2nd half with fire and gave them too many boards but luckily they struggled to capitalize. Bison length makes it tough to get clean entry passes so kiddos to them.

NDSU’s inability to make any shots in this game got me wondering……There has been talk on this board about the Jacks’ winning streak and the pressure it may put on us. I watched this game again today and I think the pressure from the streak was on the Bison. Is there so much pressure on them to finally beat us that they feel they need to play a perfect game against us to win? I think they put so much pressure on themselves to make every shot, that they didn’t play relaxed. You could see a lot of stress and doubt on their faces at times after they got down by 10-12 points. Are we the “Sunday Tiger Woods in his prime” team of the Summit League….where teams just can’t handle the pressure and know they have to play near perfect to win? Once they were down 10 in the 3rd quarter, you could almost see it on their faces that they didn’t think they could win. I think the streak may be a huge mental advantage for us….especially against our rivals.

There is definitely a mental aspect present for NDSU. They didn’t seem to play as tight in the SLT championship last year and almost beat us. We will see if things are different in the tourney this year but the mental piece is huge for both sides.

Maybe not, but 3-10 they are MUCH improved from last year. The problem they have is their “go to” player is a post which really makes it tough on them. Eventually I think Frost is going to be a stud and having one of your key players being someone who constantly has the ball in their hands is key. That is something we are going to need to find next year if we want to continue our run. Vasecka needs to take that step (which I suspect she will).Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. I think they will be be fine and two of the four "unknowns" will play solid.

Meyer and Katie V as their only proven posts. They do have Sheppard and Dunn as 6" players on the bench and two great recruits coming in but that is a lot of unknown for 6'+ players.
