Not the 20-30 pt spread some expected but a rivalry and conference road win is always great. Low energy rivalry game. I don't anticipate that staying that way in Brookings.

Joke that Larkins will win SL POY, shouldn't be an award for the best offensive player on a bad team. Her defense is adequate, but she is not the best player on the floor today.

I hope she gets all the recognition she can whether it's Becky Hammon award or even AA. Playing for her 3rd coach in 4 years and certainly could have played elsewhere. I feel the same way about her as I do about Oral Roberts' McBride..

I think i was probably more impressed with her today than i have been in any other game. she was a very good freshman, but just playing a role on a loaded team. since then it has felt like she puts up big numbers but does not really accomplish anything, and she has not really done much against the Jacks the last couple years

today, I thought she finished extremely well against our posts after switches. generally, our posts are some of the best defenders around. she also did a good job getting the ball to open shooters when we did a better job taking away her driving lanes. if they had a few good shooters around her they could cause some trouble

as far as POY, I dont think anyone else has really made a strong statement about it. our team is just SO DANG DEEP, it is hard for anyone to put up consistently MVP type numbers. Brooklyn scoring is down because we have 7, 8, 9, or more girls who are all capable of putting up double digit scoring games. and we have multiple great rebounders. I am not prepared to say Larkins is clearly the best player or anything like that, but i am not sure if anyone else is really entering the conversation for POY

as Peavy pointed out- I do give her some credit for her loyalty. obviously she could have pulled a Jimmy Rogers and went off chasing the greener grass. certainly there have been opportunities

And with a couple of minutes to go we subbed in our bottom 5 so USD subbed in 4 but left Larkins in. Pretty weak stuff there.

Unless they are redshirting a stud PG or have one coming in their next class, it could be a long cold winter in Vermillion a year from now.
