54 straight Summit wins? Whatever the total, that streak is getting more and more attention and you can easily see how bad these teams want to end it. Maybe that will make the Jacks better for the postseason, maybe not. At least it makes for better tv than a bunch of 30 point blowouts!

That was a frustrating game to watch, not just because of the Midco feed issues

It is nice to have Theisen to come in if Byom is a little off. I was happy with her 1-2 in FT's. She is not the shooter Byom is but she does a lot of the "dirty work".

She's been regaining her touch around the basket as well.

i was just thinking, our rebounding & blocks will take a hit next season without Mesa Byom and Kallie Theisen in the lineup most likely, unless the taller newcomers can bridge that gap next season.

The roster has 8 guards, 5 forwards and 2 wings.
Theisen, Byom and Vlastuin are three of the forwards, The other forwards are B Meyer and Dunn. That means SDSU will have those two, the "wings" (Sheppard and Behrens), Vasecka and the new players for posts. It will be interesting to see what A.J. does.

The pressure to be "that team" that ends SDSU's WBB gaudy 52 game win streak got to the Tommies in the 4th quarter, they played a terrible 4th quarter, which the Jacks capitalized on to pull away for another win. That happens pretty regularly in the Summit it seems , but we can't sit back and expect it to happen in every game we play. The Summit seems much better this season to their credit , we have to continue to improve our team each game to be the best we can be by season's end, I'm confident AJ and crew will do just that. A GOOD on the road win none the less.

Seriously doubt AJ will change his 4-out offense, with Brooklyn Meyer's great successes. When did SDSU ever have such a dominant post-player in D1 era?

Rebounding will need more crashers from the wing. Biggest concern, IMO, is the 2025-26 PG. Paige is so good; the all-time choice at SDSU PG. Fox’s confidence/PT seems trending downward. Size projects as Abdouch’s liability with quickness plus GRIT as her chief assets.

Thiessen,Timmer, and Mathowitz grind 100% of the time and we win the 4th quarter. Next year, rotation will involve that same attitude, including Hopp & Colbeck.

An option at PG is Vasecka.

The Tommies just ran out of gas in the 4th quarter. Our strength and conditioning program needs to be complemented , as our physical advantage seems to widen as the game goes on. We seemed to get every rebound and loose ball in the final 10 minutes.

AJ made the comment after last night that we need to play with more of an edge and that teams are being extra physical this year. We certainly get every team's best shot when we face them which makes the 53 game streak more impressive. He said Saturday will be good for us as maybe a rivalry game will bring that edge back that we need, especially on the defensive end. I don't think our women take their success for granted but when you're used to coasting to wins every game it can make you play more relaxed and be less aggressive. Helpful insight from AJ as always.

i have listed my all time 5 many times and JW is always in it. she was a bit different post than Brooklyn. JW is kind of in the middle of Myah and Brooklyn, she had better all around skills than Brooklyn, but probably not as good of a straight up post scorer. i lean toward JW as the better rebounder, but that might be influenced by the teammates they played with and what the team needs from them. Brooklyn can get away with not dominating the boards every game because Mesa and kallie are amazing rebounders and MM also is a good rebounding guard and Timmie and Paige do a solid job also

I think Brooklyn could move into my top 5 before she is done but i do not think JW gets moved out. i could see my top 5 being quite post ish heavy

talk about players being forgotten. someone posted earlier in this thread that Paige is our best PG. um??? hello Macy Miller. she absolutely IS / WAS a PG. just because she was not traditional does not mean she was not and the comparison between the two is not close in any way. no disrespect to Paige she is excellent and will be missed!! but Macy is our best player, let alone best PG

                                current top 5
                                Macy
                                Myah
                                JW
                                Pater
                                Waytashek

honestly, I am not sure i see Brooklyn moving past any of those in my personal thoughts but I might need to call it a top 6 going forward. in truth, it would be more of the top 3 and the second 3. in my perspective the top 3 are very clear
