I wonder who'd be called the " most athletic" players we've ever had....that list would be quite interesting , but it probably might just end up being the same "best players list" , although a player named on the " most athletic" list wouldn't have to be a great scorer (but not terrible obviously), but would bring other things to the game and get a good mention, maybe sneaking in somewhere ( top ten?). My choice would be Kerry Young, she and Macy had a very similar playing style, with Macy scoring a whole lot more , but for that , you could hardly tell them apart , just smooth and moved effortless with pretty good speed I'd say, great ball handlers, but Paige is the best in that regard I think, smaller, but more explosive and best press breaking PG, and don't forget passing, we've had some great passers on the various teams, best "no look" passer, Rylie Cassio Rozeboom (Jenson) maybe tied with Paige. Sorry, I digress.

      JD, your question is interesting

i believe athleticism is usually thought of as speed, agility, and jumping ability. based on that, I believe Haliegh Timmer is probably one of the fastest players we have ever had. i believe she could have gone to college on a track scholarship if that had been her wish. i believe Dru Gylten was also excellent at track but leg injuries robbed her by the time we got to see her wear yellow and blue

I am not even sure if Macy played other sports in high school. i want to say i remember that she did but i honestly cannot remember (man i am getting old). I think Kerry Young was probably faster and maybe considered a better pure athlete then Macy, but obviously not quite her equal in basketball

Myah was a complete year around athletic savage in high school- Volleyball, basketball, and track. anyone remember what her track events were? i believe she may have done a jumping event? I dont think Myah ever had sprinter speed but she might have done something like the 800? of course, Myah is another one who was probably robbed of some athleticism by multiple injuries

based on the traditional definition, i believe we have had a LOT of excellent athletes!! those that come to my mind first are probably- Timmer, Waytashek, Tylee Irwin, Kerry Young, Melissa Pater but i know that others can come up with a lot of other great ones

also, I would point out that, athleticism should also include hand eye coordination and vision in general and some people might include some other skills or abilities? that may change the list

If we are picking teams, Timmer is near the top for me. She is super fast, always hustling, good at scoring, defending, and just a great competitor. I also loved watching Charlie Easley play. I know neither of them are going to be at the top of anyones "best ever" list, but if you are putting together an all star team those two would do a great job filling a spot on any team.

it is pretty wild that we have been SO SPOILED with great players that it is nearly a total given that a player of Charlies caliber would not be on any list of all time program greats.

          but you are correct.

that said, he will be on my list of all time favorites. it was a great pleasure to watch Charlie play
