  • 2024-2025 Polls/NET/RPI

First in-season AP poll released: Jacks still just receiving votes. I think this team definitely deserves to be ranked. Multiple chances to prove themselves though in the next few weeks. Upcoming opponent Oregon ranked #25 after upsetting Baylor. Duke dropped to #16. I see Ball St ranked ahead of us in the mid major poll. Difficult stretch of games right now but this team is up to the challenge!

Women come in at #25 in the Coaches' Poll. Oregon right behind at #26. That game in Hawaii will be a good one.

I watched the upset game of Maryland vs Duke and if Duke plays us like they did Maryland, our Jacks will have to have their running shoes on and laced up tight, because the whole game (ok, most of) was a track meet, nothing but running up and down the court without stopping, lots of pressure with both defenses , lots of steals/hacks, loose balls , TO's , fast breaks, a little of everything. Very fun game to watch, very, very competitive throughout the whole game, very athletic players on both sides.Glad we have good depth , because we may need it. Glad we have had the tough competition in our first two games. Looking forward to Duke at First Bank and Trust Arena ( formally Frost Arena), should be a dandy of a game.

Duke just beat #9 Kansas State by 11 points, that should help our NET quite a bit.

Duke takes down another ranked team, this time #8 Oklahoma, Creighton winning , I'm sure Ga Tech should help our NET too.

Those NET rankings have some pretty bizarre results right now. Oregon State @ 17 is 1-5 with a sub D1 win and 30+ point neutral site loss to a team that is 7-0 and @ 66 in the same rankings (MN).

Bizzarre is right ! How's this even possible? I should have found and posted the NCAA NET ranking site. Wait, I was going to, but it was dated Mar 2024, I checked just now, and it appears they don't (NCAA) start their ranking until Dec. Yeah, agree, not the best ranking site.

Correct everything you see now is from last year's final net, so that Oregon State ranking is from the last year's Reagan Beers led team. She has since transferred to Oklahoma

It's weird, Ga Tech has our game against them listed (Nolan) and has the correct scores, both us (71-57) and Oregon's (74-58) at the just recently completed tournament the North Shore Showcase, but I have 2025 selected above. Ga Tech is ranked #68 at 6-0 , that's too low for them at the present. Our schedule (SDSU) and results listed are correct too, #55. I haven't checked when they update.

It does say at the top of the page that NET rankings is updated for games through MAR 17, so I suspect Peavy is correct.

Here is a good website for all the different rankings (RPI, NET, and strength of schedule). NET is not updated yet. All others are. https://www.warrennolan.com/basketballw/2025/index

The RPI has the jacks @ number 5 overall, between GTech and Duke, with the #1 SOS. https://www.warrennolan.com/basketballw/2025/rpi-live

Jacks start at 41 NET. Upcoming opponents: Eastern Washington 259, Montana 220, Northern Iowa 60, Texas 2, Oral Roberts 80.

                            Rice:129
                            Creighton: 39
                            Wisconsin: 86
                            Duke: 9
                            Georgia Tech: 24
                            Oregon: 50
                            Ball State: 66

Oral Roberts NET may be the most surprising. They have three 20 point wins (2 against teams with a NET in the 170s), so I assume that's why they are where they are.

It's kind of crazy that two of the three teams really dragging the Summit League down in this are USD and UND. How the times have changed.
