  • GDT: Mavs vs Jackrabbits 2pm Frost Arena SLN/Midco [NGWSD]

If you show up early, there are activities celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day. Doors open at 1pm. The Mavs are 1-10 with a strong chance of appearing in the play-in game for the SLT. They have had 9 different players start games in conference play alone. It appears injuries have been frequent. They do not have much length. Gardner is the only player over 6' that plays minutes. They are a minus 10 in boards/game in conference. If you saw the KC game, the interior passing by the Jackrabbits was working nicely with few turnovers. Also, Paige Meyer launched a couple of 3pt shots in the 4th quarter to remind us that she has good outside shot. Go Jacks!!
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

We have as many TO’s in one quarter as we did the entire game the other night. Omaha really collapsing on Brooklyn and playing good defense. We will need our guards to knock down 3’s.

Brooklyn Meyer’s court vision and passing skills are highly underrated.

HOW is that a foul on Paige?? it is a totally loose ball scenario and she is going for the ball

sometimes i think the refs think they need to keep the game competitive

Nelson has had at least 4 turnovers from bad passes.

Byom hits a new career high and it’s only the 3rd quarter! So many players have shown tremendous improvement this year including Mesa! Fun to see.

Mesa Byom is VERY arguably the second best post player in the Summit League
she probably would have started and likely been somewhat of a star already last year on any other team

yes not her best game today, but she has had 11 rebounds in each of the last two games and led us in assists on Thursday. AND she is basically a combo small forward / power forward who is our back up PG. UNO is playing a very aggressive risky scrambling defense and Tori has the ball a lot with Paige in foul trouble. Tori has not been alone. we have definitely had several people guilty of uncharacteristic TOs

Trying to figure out why the Omaha coach doesn't have Stanley on the floor more. She's small, but is their best player after Cave.

biggest concern today, this is the second game in a row where we have been NOT GOOD at all from the arc. after back to back games going 5 of 7, Ellie was 2 of 8 thursday and has missed all her 3s today. that said, I am happy and impressed with how smart this team is with shot selection! they dont jack up a bunch of 3s when the 3s are not falling

We shoot the 3 better on the road this year than we do in Frost. Up 20 shooting poorly from 3 is saying a lot though about how strong of a team we are.

Meyer is the Summit League POY and it's not even close at this point in my opinion.

David Brown is very good ! It appears that he will be Nieman’s replacement. He actually made Hewitt better

                            She should also be DPOY

Wonder if Vlastuin had her surgery - she hasn't been on the bench this week.
