How about that 2-point second quarter! It was almost kind of awkward being in the building while that was unfolding. The place was about 1/3 full and 1/3 of the people that were there were SDSU fans. You could say that we kept the cheering respectfully low key, given the slaughter! It’s stunning how far USD has fallen. That’s was like a game against Dakota State.
So, are you saying there wasn't 3025 in attendance like usd is claiming?!?!?!

I do not know if the coaching was a big difference. USD had several open 3's but they did not make them. SDSU could hedge on Larkins since their outside shooting was nonexistent. USD played mostly freshmen and sophomores, so they are young and mostly inexperienced. (USD's team kind-of reminds me of SDSU's MBB team when Areans and Easly were out, but they only missed a few games. The difference is Mayo can take over a game where Larkins can't as much. One or two upperclassmen with young players, not many consistant outside shooters and only 7 or 8 avalible players).

USD would have lost to SDSU this year even if they had their two underclassmen starters and old head coach returning. You do not realize how much of the team was Lamb, Hannah and (to some extent) Korngable. They were about 60% of USD's team the last 2 or 3 years. They played massive minutes even in some blowouts. This is not saying the USD is a terrible team, we are in the Summit League, but they would not be the power they have been the last few years this season.

SDSU will lose Myah and Burkhart after this season but they play a much deeper bench the USD did. That is the thing about having some 6th year seniors, they take up some of the experience that the younger players would be getting if coached incorrectly.

I would say this has absolutely nothing to do with experience. i cannot say if DP simply intended to ride Duffy, Lamb, and Sjerven to what she saw as a bigger, better job or if she just could not compete recruiting wise. Duffy and Lamb were not her recruits. Krull and Watson were nice players and Larkins might be a little better than those two?? (would be interesting to see how shots, etc... divided up this year if those two stayed??) but none of them are Duffy, Lamb, Sjerven

and i think there is a good chance the jacks take a small step back next year with the loss of Myah. but you can see the players who, while they might not be Myah or Macy are going to be the next great players. In the last 25 years- ish the Jacks went from Brende, to Pater and Davis, to Schlagel, to Vogel, to Rotert, to Warkenthien, to J Young, Eide, Waytashek, K Young, M Miller, to Selland and lots and lots of other very special players i did not name

if i am honest, i think kallie has actually been better then paiton already this year. meant that as no slam on Paiton!!! she is a BIG TIME warrior!! will end up probably a top 5 scorer and an all time great!!! but there is zero question that kallie rates out as a more efficient and effective player this year

and unless the train goes way way off the tracks B Meyer will probably be better than both of them before she is done. my guess is she makes a jump like Markowski did this year for the huskers, and i still think she has a shot to be inner inner circle all time great

and while Brooklyn has that potential, she probably does not have to do it next year, because Paige also has a shot to be that type of player. I am not counting Timmer out of that conversation yet either. Tori has had a very disappointing season, on the offensive end, this year, but i would not be at all surprised to see her have a big senior year!! i also expect both freshman guards to be much better

point being, it was clear when Duffy left that usd had NO replacement and that the replacements for Lamb and Sjerven were also nowhere in sight. Maybe the jacks dont have another 2000 pt scorer on the current roster?? but they have lots of players who are already good and have at least the potential to be next in the line of the program greats!! and depending on How paige, timmer, tori, kallie, brooklyn, the freshman guards and others prepare for and transition to next year the step back might be very very small or maybe not at all
