AJ repeatedly says the Jacks are an elite team. Our fundamentals are sound, even mastered: box-outs, screening (both on-ball & away), close outs, low block seals, back-side help defense, etc.
IMHO, Power Five schools recruit great athletes ( & height ), who often are not great athletes with strong BB fundamentals. Review the Minnesota game or a random game from ANY lower 2/3rd team of ANY conference to see consistent failure on the fundamental skills level. The Sweet 16 teams of the NCAA do not have those weaknesses. Teams in the Round of 16 in the WNIT do, and they are exposed quickly.
713 entries in today's transfer portal indicate (mostly) players without survival BB skills at the D-1 level. All of them were 'the best thing since sliced beard" as recruits; reality is harsh.
