Congrats on the win. You validated it. Great game. Two really good teams slugging it out.

Now it’s a matter of just taking care of business until Sioux Falls and a trip to the Tourney is wrapped up. That sweep was huge.

Sell and is definitely now a mile ahead in the POY race.
It was way too close at times for my sanity, but I'm definitely happy with the outcome

And in the wacky world of RPI, USD loses twice and actually jumps up two spots to #65. Jacks jump up thirteen to #40. NET rankings don't update until tomorrow.

As long at the ladies don't drop a couple games to bottom feeders they will get an at-large. Their resume is really strong and two wins against USD just improved it.

I flashed a thought about Kristen Rotert making the steal against ORU, Kevi Luper , JC Bigham & crew in the SLT Championship game when USD was about to inbound the ball, I believe it was the third to last inbounds play for USD in the game with Jacks leading by 1 and 14.1 sec left, dismissed it with unlikely, and then it happened. This was a great comeback and quite extraordinary, but the 9pts behind and :27 seconds left to tie and eventually win against Arkansas is still the record for the most remarkable comeback, but this one will go down in Jackrabbit lore none the less, coming back from 8 pts down from about 2:30 left against a very stingy defense orientated USD team to win by 5.

Thoughts from the game/s this weekend

Myah continues to lead the way to MVP. She impacts the game in so many more ways than any other player in the league. Her versatility offensively is just next level from any other player in the league.

Paiton continues to demonstrate an improved mid range and 3 point game. This will be huge if she can force other teams post players to leave the paint. The last 3 minute comeback last night was fueled by Sjerven being forced to leave the paint and respect her 3 point shooting. This allowed the rest of our players to drive the middle and use the height advantage we have across all other positions.

Irwin continues to play well in both ends of the court. What she brings to this team extends beyond the stat sheet.

Tori finally had a good game. She just hasn’t been efficient, has missed more layups than is tolerable. However, she finally had a game where she finished around the run. She is also unheralded defensively as her length really causes other teams problems. Nice to see her have a good game and hopefully this will fuel better games to come.

Out point guard position, while not dumpster fire bad, is whatever is slightly better than that. Greer has done everything necessary to play herself to a full time bench role, but the lack of talent means she keeps getting minutes. Is Rongisch really so bad that she can’t even get minutes with this group playing like they are?

The bench had had moments where they have provided some decent scoring punch. Vlastuin keeps improving offensively (but her defense needs to get much better). The bigs are playing solid defense but are not super efficient offensively yet. But he seems to have a rotation that is doing some things to help us win.

Dawn was a bit shell shocked in her interview. She is fiercely competitive(much like Jory Collins) and she was dwelling on the 4th foul call against Lamb. I will need to watch the rerun to see how bad the call was. She did not have a postgame interview available for Friday night. Lee was a conversive following the loss and following the win he was a good listen as well.

Thanks SanDakotaState. I agree with you OH. That had to be a pretty somber locker room.
