There will be a game preview on our show today with Joe Casa, the pbp voice for Texas State. He will be on at 3:20. www.kwsn.com , and we are streaming.
They never considered SDSU. They sent Aaron Johnston home unhappy.
If this is true (coming from a coyote you never know) it certainly reflects poorly on those advising these young women as they embark on their college careers. An opportunity to compete in their home state at the DI level and serve as role models for future SD athletes spurned. The reasons are obvious to most of us here so I won't go into details. Again, if the above is true, it really is unfortunate and their families, friends, and advisors are deserving of our pity.

I think Aaron is just fine with the recruits we have. From what I hear the twins are more than just a little homesick. What a mistake it would have been to play for USD who couldn't accomplish any team goals with one of the best players in DII.
Unfortuanatley for you it is true. The Hoffman's older sister is a GA for the track team and she has told me point blank that SDSU was never considered for whatever reason.
I do think the Jacks have a very good team and will beat a lot of Div I schools including Texas St.
Whether you wanted them or not, Aaron was begging and kept recruiting them even after they told him they were not coming to SDSU regardless.
I asked Melissa Pater (former GA for SDSU) about these two kids last year. She told me that State wanted one of these young ladies, but not both as we already had the young lady from huron and were pretty deep at the gaurd position. The twins, as we all know, wanted to play D1 basketball together. State never had a real good shot at them, nor did Aaron "beg" for them to come to State.

This sounds most plausible. Now lets put the twin's topic to rest and go out and kick Texas St ass.

Texas St. not much of an opponent right now. Imagine if we had them in Frost arena. Sounds like our girls are hitting on all cylinders, playing tough D, rebounding, and getting out on the fastbreak. I think its obvious why the Hoffman twins aren't on the SDSU roster. Its halftime:
S. Dakota St. 45
Texas St. 29
If AJ keeps up this intensity, fullcourt press and all, our girls will cover 20 on the road against a DI school, not bad.

JackMD,
I shouldn't have allowed you to talk me into lowering my spread. Whats the score? We are well on our way to covering that 23 point spread that I put on initially.
Since the game is out of reach, thought of checking out where the women are playing.
Interesting all-time attendance stats. Volleyball has outdrawn the WBB team.

Gonna go out on a limb here and guess Texas State won't be scheduling too many more games against our women. Do you think they expected a whoopin' like this? No, they're not a good team to begin with, but wow, the 50 people that are there must be wondering what hit them.
Good thing is looking at who's beat Texas State - Oklahoma & Texas A&M - should give our women even more confidence that they could compete in some of the bigger DI conferences.
