The way you guys are talking it would be cheaper to build a new place to play keep the naming rights, make Frost arena look exactly the same as now but with your additions. Maybe we have an alumni that will donate all that money like U of North Dakota has.

Who would that be? I dont think we have a casino strip owner like Ralph Englestad.  Besides that he died in the process of completing his big plan for UND.  UND still does not have clear title to the Ice arena, and his management company all but run the athletic department. Its a mess that SDSU should avoid.

As far as improvements to Frost they will come and will be well thought out.  Eventually we will need a new basketball facility, but we need to have continuous sell outs before that occurs.  Right now its not happening because we have a rebuilding going on in Men's basketball. We need to have a good product in both Men and Women basketball to come close to sell outs.

I was at the game against Bellevue and enjoyed it and had a nice time. It was nice to get a win against a good naia team that was really gunning for us. What really disappoints me is the attendance. I am in my mid 60's and semi-retired so I have some time to go to games during the week but it amazes me we can't pull at least 2500 students out of their dorms for 90minutes to see a game(even on a weeknight). I am really interested in the d1 move and optimistic but I don't know about the students. Those numbers are really disturbing. I know students have their own pressures with jobs and school but 1000 people for a game with so many kids living on campus is not good. SDSU is a great school and I worked hard there when I was a student but I found time to go to the games. I guess times change but I would think it should be easy to get 2500 students over there since they all live within 1 mile of the arena. Does anybody know what kind of consensus there is on campus among the students regarding this d1 move. When I was a student the USD game was always our biggest games but we went to all the games. Now maybe students sit in their rooms and study or play on their computer or watch tv - who knows? All that matters is that they aren't at Frost where they belong.
