    Go State!  ;D

They have replaced the TBD with SDSU on the tournament brochures below:

I don't see UNO or USD on there anywhere! Didn't we used to play them a while back? What ever happened to them? Did they go down to the NAIA? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

You know you are hardly ever standing still these days. If you are not moving UP you are probably moving DOWN. To each his own!

            Re: Paradise Jam

New tournament brochure put out by Basketball Travelers, Inc. shows the teams participating and package deals available. Would be a great way to spend Thanksgiving this year. ;D

I guess we know for sure now which Universities should be called "Nebraska's Team" and "South Dakota's Team". I don't see USD or UNO listed. ;D

Any other deals available that you are aware of?

Where is the USeD men's basketball schedule?  Must be sending them some place exotic this year and want some more time to spin it so the women don't feel bad. Title IX seems to have a different definition down there.

              Where is the baseball schedule?

I know we shouldn't be paying any attention to "those left behind" but USeD is such an easy target it is hard to pass them up.

              I hate to say I told you so! The date on that post was June 13, 2004. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

How prophetic of you. Of course, very predictable of USD. I guess if you cut the baseball team the men's BB program can travel to China. Seems like a fair trade.

You're absolutely right! No claim to visions or dreams here. No need!

When it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck.............

They are only taking 10 players according to the news. I wonder which three players got bumped in favor of the graduating seniors they are taking in their place?

Has to make them feel really special!?

I did some research on the usdII site.  They list nine of the ten players that will get to make the trip to China.  Here is a list of the losers in the decision to take former players instead of current ones.  Three of the four will be sitting home:

                    1.  Brock Seim
                    6'6 Soph forward (Iowa)

                    2.  Tyler Westman
                    6'3 R/SFR guard (Minn)

                    3.  Andy Mueting
                    6'4 Soph guard (Iowa)

                    4.  Brooks Little
                    6'3 RS/FR guard (SD)

I am guessing that the lucky one will be Little unless they are planning to bring back Tommy King (why not) It's not about winning you know, it's an educational experience.  It sucks to be from out of state on that team apparently.

It also sucks to be a female basketball player from that school.  I bet they try to make it up to the women this year.  Hold on to your wallets South Dakotans. They are spending money down there like they have it! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Brock Seim is in the process or has of transferred to DWU and is following former USD assistant John Henningway to DWU. On the Argus forum under DWU, a poster indicated that Westerman may transfer to DWU as well. Nothing offical there, but the four you mentioned are marginal players so its not surprising that they dont make the trip.

"We may be in a little over our heads competitively," Boots said. "We'll be facing players who are from 20 to 35 years old. Hopefully we can compete, but that won't be the main purpose of the trip. We're looking forward to seeing a place completely different from our own."

I guess I just don't like the phoney reason for going. Taking former players and leaving current members of the team at home just because they are "marginal" or they might be leaving seems to indicate what everyone already knows.

They want to win and win very badly. I don't fault anyone for that. Let's just tell it like it really is.
