I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Megan Vogel has a torn ligament in her left thumb, she heads down to Sioux Falls today to see what needs to be done.

That's not good. On the other hand (no pun intended), she shoots pretty well right handed....

Anyone have any idea how long that takes to heal?
One hand points to campus...the other to the liquor store.

Hopefully it's not serious! That would really be a bummer! She has put her heart and sould into that program both on and off the court and it would be a real shame to see her miss out on part of her senior year!

I have had a chance to get to know her and she is a great young lady! One of the nicest SDSU athletes I've ever met and one of the fiercest competitors to ever wear the blue and gold!

        Good luck Megan!

I was watching practice a little while ago. Vogel looks fine she's got her finger wrapped up pretty good. Morgan Meier still has her faceguard on. Anyone know if that is gonna become a permanent fixture? ;D

I spoke to AJ at the Hobo Day game. He said Megan would be okay. Megan can play better injured than most can healthy.

Good news that she is going to be fine!

Can't wait to see the team in action! I think they are going to be really tough!

It looks like Megan will end up the #2 scorer in Jacks history, that is unless we can make a run in the NIT's.
She needs to average 25.2 pts/g to overtake the lead, but at her current 17.3, will most likely come in 2nd with 95 pts behind Shlagel.

It's funny that you post that today because I was looking into the same thing. The one thing in Megan's favor is that the schedule should be much easier from here until the end of the season which might help her put some more points up.

I like your thinking about making a run into the NIT! Wouldn't that be something to have the record broken in that manner. Just think how many more points Megan would have had if she would have finished her game in d-2 playing in all of thos post-season tournaments and playoffs!

                  I hope she gets it!

Is there some way the old posts on this thread can be erased? I saw that there was a "Today" post on the Megan Vogel thread so I opened it and started reading. I didn't pay any attention to the date of the first post and as I read about the injury (from last October!) I thought: Oh no, not again! Once I woke up, I skipped to the latest posts.

                    What a competitor!

                    Go Jacks.

I have to admit I did the same thing until I too realized the injury news I was reading was outdated...thankfully!

It is right before the name of the thread when you open up a category, such as Jackrabbit Women's Basketball on the main page. I didn't know about the 'new' button before, just thought it was to indicate which threads had been posted on since the last time I was signed on. It is really useful.
