  • GDT: Northern Iowa

UNI visits Frost tonight with tip-off around 7pm. The Panthers beat USD earlier this year by 21 (w/o Seekamp). They are a dangerous 3 point shooting team and should be a good test for the Jacks before they head to Creighton.

The final stretch of the non-conference schedule starts tonight. Finish Strong!

I watched UNI play the other night and they use a backside cut to basket when not shooting 3's. UND beat them that night.

Tied at 9 with 5:00 to go in the first. We clearly have a much better opponent than the last two games tonight. They're playing tough D and moving the ball well. The Jacks are going to have to earn it tonight.

Edit: Now we are behind 15-13 with 2:00 to go. Thompson has already missed two layups. She has just been off the last several games. Jacks are piling up some fouls too. We're not going to win playing like this.

Whats with the fouls. are these summit refs or what? Rough even listening to calls when its so many fouls callsand most are on us.

We can't get to the basket, can't finish when we do.I think teams have found a weakness to exploit, stop the dribble penetration and try to get the kick out (almost always).I noticed UNI does a lot more deliberate passes going toward the basket. They get a lot of fouls called against us that way. We put Ober in the position of being the last defense once again and she's in foul trouble again.Wish we didn't just give up getting to the basket after just one dribble penetration.Good scouting looks for persistent patterns to exploit. We don't get to the rim enough, thankfully we have excellent perimeter shooting. This years team is one of the worst at getting to the rim we've had in recent years,I think, even with Macy.

From my view, the fouls have mostly looked legit. A lot of them have come when the UNI player had our beat or nearly beat. We look slow and they have been slicing us up on a lot of possessions.

Now tied with 5:21 to go in half.

Thanks. hard to see that on the radio. They arent making it sound like they are bad calls or sloppy just wondering what we are doing wrong.

We are getting outplayed.Time to re-group the 2nd half,if we can.How can we look better playing teams like ND and Maryland, and can't score against UNI? Very perplexing to me.To UNI 's credit, they sure are taking it to us.

The way they have been playing since they got home, I am not surprised we are struggling. We have not been good scoring at all. Surprised when I saw how bad some of the FG% were for the team. Thompson, Geubert, Boever all have bad FG% for the year.

To many fouls, not enough rebounds and bad shooting equals down big at the half. 43-30.

                    Ugly first half....comedy of errors!

This is the same team we've seen the last two games. Flat. Something is off. They look like a middle of the pack Summit squad. If things don't change fast they will be on the wrong end of multiple blowouts over the next 10 days.

I was thinking that too. unless they are in a bunch of trap games and are just minds are focused on the road trip coming up. we cant really afford to be playing our worst basketball before conference play starts soon. Well hope the 2nd half goes better.

dont know we drive the lane no fouls doubled team ball goes out no call. they drive the lane foul called. not saying thats it but foul calls are keeping uni in the game plus our horrendous play. do not look good at all.
