    Re: SDSU vs. Portland State

Guebert is the only one I think can shoot herself out of a three point shooting funk.Like Kristin Rotert did the year she started out 0-18 or something like that.....finished the year with 62 three's, I think, Young (Jill) had 82, also I think(2008-2009 season).

Lead back to 16 with 5 min to go. Ober nails 1 of 2 ft, 17 pt lead then Lexington gets a solid transition bucket to get to 19 point lead.

Massey (sp?) better re-figure their projected score formula,9 is a whole lot less then 41.

Who installed the lid on the Jacks' bucket tonite. Couldn't get those open 3'source to go thru at all tonite. Shot poorly, and still won.

Of course there are no guarantees, but I expect the energy and sharpness to pick up over the next couple of games as the competition gets better. It's certainly not the first time we've seen this type of game. If three or four of those (seemingly) dozens of wide open threes go in we would have had the blowout many expected.

It was good to see Flaatta get back on the court. There's bound to be a few games where the backup posts are going to need to produce. Mieras might need some help.

On to a much better opponent Saturday. UNC. bombs away from the arc and could easily score 70+ if they are shooting well.

We've been shooting a lot of three's lately too, with mixed results, either hot or cold.Funny how when a team is struggling to make three's how many open shots teams are willing to give you. The ND's,UConns, when given an open three will generally hit 45-50 % of them. That's where we need to be fairly consistently,to make our opponents respect the perimeter.I think over all, we are a little better than average shooting from distance, not tonight though and I do believe if you're wide open, you have to take the shot,so we had little choice there.

Lot of missed layups and errant passes, sloppy play tonight,we tend to play down to our competition,or up too sometimes. USD just beat ESPN ranked (Mid-Major poll)Drake tonight,I don't think we can run through the conference schedule without some losses if we play like we did tonight.Hope everyone is right and tonight's game was something we don't have to worry about too much. A wins a win though, can't get down about the result.
