Re: Jackrabbits @ USD 1/17/15 the early game

I'm not going to get too hung up on a 4 points loss, in a rivalry game, at their place, missing our best player and lastly...almost 20 more damn free throws for the home team??
Wow...hopefully AJ has a comment on that. Williams would've thrown a shoe at the ref if that script was flipped. She has no problem going Mulkey on he refs from what I've seen.
All that matters is SF at this point.

Hard to win when other team shots 20 more FTs. Jacks needed more from Clarin and Ober. Not a good enough 3 point shooting team to get beat inside. Contreras should never score 32, ever, unacceptable lack of D.

Not sure better team won but probably did. That FT discrepancy makes it hard to say.

I listened to the entire game. It didn't seem like SDSU was any less aggressive than USD was. They just didn't get the calls. There was a stretch in the 2nd half where USD was fouled on many consecutive possessions. Interesting calls. Who knows what would've happened with Waytashek playing.

AJ talking now about the shooting fouls that were not called in the second half against SDSU.

"It just didn't go our way. Didn't play tough enough to win."

On to Western Illinois, which all of a sudden turns into a big game.

IMO, the only "must-win" games are in SF.

No doubt...I was a little surprised it was as close as it was...especially when heard Megan W was out the game.

All credit to USD. Nice win.

i don't think you want to be staring at 4 losses. you will have dug yourself an awful tough hole to crawl out of. unless your focus has switched to the Summit Tourney now. Jacks will really be fighting for that bye in the tourney.

We haven't been blown out by anyone yet, three close losses all on the road, gone are the days of no or only one conference loss for the entire conference season. We are getting our backs up against the wall however.

Calling bs on that one Daniel. If we want to be a sweet 16 team pummeling Summit League teams (including usd) needs to be the goal. The 2008 team would still dominate today's Summit.

There are no bye games at the Summit Tourney. That was a one year anomoly reckified by the return of ORU. When UNO is eligible (next year?) the 9th place team won't even be in SuFu.

SDSU & USD are two evenly matched teams, and SDSU was missing their all-conference player in this away game. Exciting tight game. A couple of breaks, and Jacks were right there to steal an away game. Jacks do need to steal more the remaining 4 away conference games, and continue Frosting teams out in Brookings.

Couldn't agree more, on both women's and men's side. At least on the women's side, the winner of the tourney won't be such a huge underdog. Looking like a 14 seed at absolute best on the men's side. The better teams won both games today. Women's teams are pretty even. Will be fun if they both make it to the SL championship. Mens tourney will be an absolute free for all. Stamp it

Honestly the goal shoudl turn into for both the mens and womens teams is to play the first day in the tourney. If you can't get first 2 seeds get thr last too. Being in the middle does you know good. Seems like this team is lacking that will to win. Seems like until last year we rarely lost a close game. Like the last minute they would alsways get the steal or reboud or last second shot to win the game if its close. Seems like the team lost that touch. Talent isn't an issue but all the pieces aren't wokring properly. Like a gear is out of adjustment and the mechanic can't get it finely tuned yet.
