I know nothing about your team which is slightly more than I know about NDSU women's team. I will say, I was very impressed you beat a top #25 team. Time to make some noise in the Dance, Jacks. Get it done.

About the 3rd year in a row we've knocked off a top 25. Last year it was Penn State. Think they were ranked in the top 15. Year before Nebraska. Both of those were at home though.

Have you won a tournament game?

By a lot. We were a 7 seed that year and lost to Baylor by 1 in the 2nd round. A game we let slip away.

The key to winning tourney games is to get a 12 or lower seed and avoid the top 15 or so teams in the country. We haven't been able to get those seeds because we've lacked consistency the last few years. We beat teams that are very good (Penn State/Nebraska) and lay eggs against teams we should dominate (Ark St last year).

If we only have three or four losses heading into March this year we should get a decent seed.

I think there might be better seeds than a seven...great first rd match up, but then your matched with a 2 seed the sweet 16 game, not good.

On a side note, that team( 2008-2009) is listed in the NCAA record book, 2nd with a 32-3 record for "Best record in first Division one season" category,p 28.n FirstDivision I

There are indications the Summit's top teams (SDSU, USD...other?) may finally earn the second bid for the NCAA tourney. We are so young that there are bound to be some ups and downs but I watched the Arkansas game and even though we never led during regulation, you just knew we were never out of it either.

An objective person watching that Baylor game would wonder what the heck was going on with officiating. Our team had to play against five players in Baylor colors and three wearing stripes, led by that low-down cry-baby Coach Mulkey. And even though severely outnumbered, we almost won the game. I think one of the outcomes of that game was a rule change about substituting a player to shoot free throws. (Nice one, Baylor Coach.)

A friend from work who was a usd grad and followed the mens basketball closely didn't watch womens he just didn't care for it. Basically after the tcu game I talked him into to just watching one game. Nest day he was as a usd fan just like the rest of us. That was one heck of a team who got hosed on some calls and the better team lost that game. He was impressed for sure.

Dykes doesn't think Stevens can shoot....
When did Dykes say he didn't think Stevens could shoot? I thought he was very complimentary of the entire team.

He didn't technically say she couldn't shoot, he was more surprised that she went 4-4 from 3 with her lack of shooting so far this season. I'm probably picking and taking things out of context. Stevens is a heck of a shooter and was due to breakout from behind the arc.

In a press conference yesterday, Dykes said he told his players that South Dakota State was the best team they have played so far this year. They played Iowa and Middle Tn State also. http://www.arkansasrazorbacks.com/vi...b0ed0692077468

We cant have any let down losses. With this team team being so young I'm not sure that's a reasonable expectation.

I think this team has a shot to be something special.

I just hope we accomplish everything we can this year ,because next year, even though our youngsters will have a lot of experience and will be much better, we will lose some great seniors (5 of them) next year. We lost only (3) this year and we started slow. Next year we'll be starting slowly too as we learn to adjust

Just looking at RPI for our upcoming games:

                                UWGB- #10
                                Middle Tennessee State- #25
                                UALR- #52

Have to think that 3 wins here would really help the RPI. Honestly, looking at the conference after the first part of the season, USD looks like a threat and I think NDSU looks like they will be better than where they were predicted (not that that means much...), but the rest of the Summit just looks downright bad. IUPUI has really struggled, and I don't think the other teams in the conference have enough horses to threaten us. If we were to win the next three and finish with 3-4 losses, I think we would get an at large even if we lost in the tourney. Thoughts?
