The attendance for the game was 1,577. Way to support a top 25 ranked team.

It is really important not to lay and egg against UNC.
I like what the box score on their website did...listed 1577 for attendance, but then listed like 1038 for actual estimated attendance. Never seen that before.

I'd say that Miller has officially arrived after tonight. How many of those 20 points were in the second half? 15? She's going to shoot a lot of FT at SDSU with that attack the basket mentality. This team will be tough to beat on nights when she has a hot shooter to kick it out to.

Chynna Stevens never got down on herself for starting the season slowly on three point shooting. She comes through 4-4 this game. Good shooters always believe in themselves, so do coaches who let them work through it.

Have never understood why Stuart doesn't get more playing time.

My blood pressure has finally come down enough that I can make a late post. One thing that really hurt Arkansas, I believe, was their short bench. Three of their players had over 41 minutes out on the floor, and six players scored all their points. The only Jackrabbit with more than 33 minutes in the game was Megan Waytashek. the push we put on in the last :57 seconds, and the OT showed how out of kilter they were. Have to admit I didn't think we could take them on their home floor...but sure glad Macy and Chynna and he rest didn't realize that!

I like the comment from the young lady in the post game interview after the "here it comes " comment made about them "overlooking us" for the Rutgers game. She said, no,our coach doesn't allow us to look past our opponent. She said they didn't because this team is just as good as Rutgers. Players respect each other more so than media gives out respect, because they know how hard people are playing, they're experiencing it first hand.

I always thought that too, she's like instant offense if you need some points in a big way, can put the ball on the floor good for her size w/o much concern of a to..she runs the floor good. Good 3 pt shooter. The only thing is I thought she must be weak defensively, but this game she gets 3 blocks in a game where fouls are closely called. Sure glad she played in this game.

Quotes from the Arkansas coach and a top scorer should be plastered on the dressing room wall to inspire these and all future Jacks:

Coach Jimmy Dykes: "South Dakota State is really good, and their physical strength bothered us. They wore us down for the first time all year."
(On a personal note, all SEC coaches should be named Jimmy)

And, from Jhasmin Bowen: "In overtime, they just outworked us."

The Razorbacks have a short rotation. 3 of the players shared 10 minutes and the other gal off the bench logged 23 minutes. It is hard to see how they could match up physically with the Jackrabbits and in an overtime game. The Jackrabbits had 69 minutes from the bench. Great win on the road for the women.

I think with Stuart you never know what you will get. Against Georgetown she looked like an all-conference player. If she played like that all of the time, you couldn't keep her off of the floor.
Blocks- I know she had 3 blocks in 9 minutes in this game but last year she had 3 blocks in 282 minutes. It would be awesome if she could keep up this year pace and not last year but I'm sure it will be somewhere in the middle.
Shooting- For her size she is awesome at this. How many post players are in the top 1/4 on their team in FT%. You would think that guards should be more used to shooting from outside and dominate in the category. She also might of had the best FG% and 3-point FG%. I know she didn't take a ton of 3 pointers but when she did, they had a really good chance of going in.

Megan is really aggressive on offense. If I was the other teams coach, I would double her and try to draw a charge. I'm surprised that she doesn't get more of those called on her. One thing this team has is several players that aren't afraid to put their head down and take the ball to the basket. Both Megan's, Miller and Young all seem to do that. As long as they don't get called for too many charges, I think it's great. Most official seem to either call a block or nothing.

The thing I find interesting is last year Megan played about 10 minutes a game and this year it has been about cut in half. I know AJ really likes Ober and Flatta and they will be great players but trying to split up playing time between 5 posts or more posts is tough. That's why we have AJ.
