          How about the idea that 1 of the 3 women referees should not have been at the game tonight. She was an absolute beginner trying to make a mark on the game. She maybe blew one whistle in favor of the Jacks. She questioned other calls in favor of the Jacks with the other refs. The scorecard for her should be a failing grade. Go to the tape and watch closely. It was a novelty to see 3 women refs in a game. I hope I do not see the one gal again.
          Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

            There were many good solid performances tonight. The one that did not show in the books was Ober playing defense on Bailey. She did not totally lock her down, but she was the best defender down low IMO. Walters also found her range at the 3 pt line as another bonus. All 5 starters in double figures scoring with Waytashek getting more open looks this year.
            Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

                Waytashek air ball ,I like to think of it as Megan checking for windage. After an air ball, she usually hits about three in a row.

                  Another note on the refs via the TV chat, They were West Coast Conference crew. Reviews were not sterling from that conversation either. I still give the 2 more slender women a passing grade and I understand that I do not always agree with every call from my vantage point.

                    I thought the refereeing very good compared to last years game at BYU. Crowds help a lot. Very impressive from the game, Jacks shoot 100% as a team from charity stripe,16-16.

                        I thought their center, although she played great, was vulnerable to getting the ball knocked out of her hands when she first caught the ball, as she set up to turn and launch. She didn't protect the ball and kind of stuck it out a little and was preoccupied with the defender behind her as she backed up preparing to shoot. We tend to foul instead of disrupt and/or steal or cause a turnover in those situations,.... so maybe less is more.

                              Just watched the post-game interviews on the Argus site. I liked the BYU coach's comment about hoping to run into us in the NCAA Tourney. Sounds like a realistic plan based on our play last night. This is going to be a fun year.

                                Can the women's team please teach the men's team how to make free throws?

                                What a game for Jacks. Nothing better than taking down the #1 mid major team in the country! BYU coach is a class act. He pretty much said that Miller has a very high ceiling and was really impressed with her. Does anyone know what other schools offered Miller or were looking at her? I'm curious to see.
