Seriously? These young ladies just took us on one of the best rides I've been on as a fan. With approx 36 hrs notice, they jumped on a plane, and headed to a place just north of the devils armpit, and played in front of 12,000 fans...which I assume is the largest crowd the Jacks have played in front of in the entire history of the program. Good run, but not great? Get outta here with that. We just made the Final Four of the WNIT and beat 4 solid programs to get there. We had no business even being in this game and hung tough the entire way. I've seen it all too often? Classy. Personnel issues cost this team? Try this...personnel issues allowed us to defeat 3 Big East teams and 3 Big 10 teams this year. I could go on, but I'll just stop.

Good points. Thought Jacks could have played better coming out of half. Wanted to recognize the benefit of home games. Didn't mean to be so harsh.

What I meant to say was, great run, hard fought, way to make a difference. A few more rebounds and few less turnovers the jacks might be playing for the title. Damn, I like to win.

A chance to shoot 4 more FT might have been enough to do it, as well.

Home or away, that was a hell of a run. So often you see teams that lose their auto bid game in a shocker upset fold up immediately in the NIT. This team made something very positive out of it. They reengaged the fans, got more press, and sent two Big East and Big 10 teams home in the process. I expect our underclassmen got a lot out of this 5-game experience and the odds of them coming unglued (like Sioux Falls this year) will be a lot lower. Our coaches are going to love talking about those two Big 10 wins when they go into the homes of the next Minnesota recruits too.

I definitely enjoyed the last three weeks. Well done Jacks.

To our team I'll say this,hold your head up high and walk proudly ,for this fan knows you fought your hardest and accomplished so much ,til you met defeat.I cannot and will not denegrate your performance because you lost the game.Instead,i give my gratitude for giving this fan anyway,quite the thrill ride for coming ooh so close.You've written a page in your Jackrabbit legacy.Be proud of your accomplishments,especially the seniors,and I'll be looking forward to next season and another page to be wrote.Thanks Jackrabbit team.

They did everything they needed to do to win, except make a couple more free throws and one more shot at the end of the game. That's the way the ball bounces sometimes. They did good.

as far as accomplishments go, this ranks right up there this run they had. the big ones, are winning the D2 title, our first year winning in the ncaa and dang near should have beat that other team i wont mention. And this year has to rank close to those even though they didnt make the NCAAs, beating penn state, a deep run in the WNIT, if they would have won the thing, it would have been huge.

On a side note, since its a for profit tournament, why dont they reseed after every round? since its really not seeded 1-64 like the NCAA its more seeded on regional play, why not reseed. To me that would help the tournament attendance by giving the programs who can support it better more home games, and keep some competitive nature as well. I would think if they did a reseeding tournament, that way UTEP and SDSU with the better fan support then most would be able to keep hosting. I perfer this for the WNIT, but think they need to get away from letting NCAA tourny let big time programs host on their actual home court. a regional neutral site would be better for the success of the NCAA IMHO.

If you haven't watched the post game interviews...do it. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Steph and Megan are gonna be pretty successful in life. If you aren't proud to be a Jackrabbit after watching those videos, I can't help ya.

Quite honestly I hope UTEP wins and by a broad margin. tough task to dig out of that hole. Only shows how strong we played them, good to see the refs haven't changed how they call it and the foul discrepancy is still in play.

I'm torn on which team is my favorite in this game. I like the way Rutgers is playing and, right now, dominating (36-23). But, it seems our stock rises if UTEP can pull off the win. Hard to judge but is UTEP playing as well in this game as they did against SDSU?

SDSU has been mentioned by the commentators at several points. What catches my ear the past few years is there's no 'gee-whiz, look at the new kids on the block' attitude when talking about the Jackrabbits. While we're not in the upper crust with UConn and three or so other teams, the Jackrabbit program is now an accepted, recognized force to be reckoned with in Division I women's basketball.
