I was thinking about this last night too, if he did happen to go... I would imagine Falco/Jewett and possibly Emilee Thiesse would be possible options.

That said... I think he stays. And this 10 page thread is moot.

I would have serious doubts about the decision making skills of someone that thought marrying Brandon Thiesse was a good idea. I don't think that is someone you want leading a major program at a "Mid-Major" school.

That being said, I have never met Emilee and know her brother (Dom) to be unparalleled in preparation and execution.

As I said earlier...watch for a woman to be named head coach for the Gophers. And as we all discussed, not sure whether AJ would accept, or not, but at least not this year. SO GLAD to have this quieted down and to have AJ and staff continue to get ready for what should be a GREAT season in 2014-15!!!

Bullet dodged - for now. I'm guessing this will be an annual ritual, especially with the freshman/sophomore classes we will have next year.

A little birdie indicated to me today that His Nibs seems pretty happy with his current situation in Brookings, and emphasized again The Man had zero contact with Minnesota in any way.

I said when this whole thing came up that it's great if he stays and it's great if he gets the job. Evidently today it's a great day to be a Jackrabbit for AJ whether he was interested in UM job or not. Only he knows and knows what if any contact happened. If he wants to move up that opportunity will present itself in the near future.

Glad AJ is staying. I would expect he'll get a nice raise thanks to the WNIT run. Certainly, he deserves it.
