To her credit, she knows the game and seemed to be were she should be on both offense and defense, and she made no mistakes that I noticed. Her body set some neat picks at times. She got limited play, because of stamina.

The poor lady needs to loose 50 to 75 lbs. and she will be an excellent bb player. She was listed as a sophomore so I assume she played last year. Did she put on weight over the summer or has she always been very heavy. I wonder what AJ would do if one his players returned from summer in this physical condition. It could easily happen.
She reminds me of the young gal from Washington,Washington 's a very good team and she plays quite alot it seems. It's amazing to me how someone can carry all that extra weight and keep up with the others who don't have that burden to carry. They must have extra desire to play or something.

Michaela Mayer from Washington is going to throw the shot put at Minnesota next year. I'm not sure how a slimmed down version would affect her throwing, but it has worked for her so far.

I did see someone in the line at the concession stand that looked like her. I only seen her from the side but I did think it was her. I assumed I was mistaken so kept walking and did not wait till she turned around.

Pardon my strange sense of humor, but she certainly wouldn't be on Becky Francis's team.

Sorry, I find it ironic how Becky Francis sightings and discussing weight of players show up in the same thread at the same time.

I noticed when my daughter and I went to see Megan Vogel and the uwgb women play Oakland last month that rhere was a remarkable weight gain on all the ladies from Oakland. Not to the extreme but noticeable. And the girl from Western has put on weight from last year. She saw limited action last season as in a few minutes per game.

I saw Megan Vogel one day when she was speaking after her playing days. She lost around 30+ pounds. These women need lots of protein and lift weights while they are playing and training. I think she said her playing weight was around the 185+ range. The SDSU training program might involve some extra snacks.

Here we go again, reliving the Oakland experience, and I thought they move on to the Horizon Conference. Is it a coincidence? You be the judge as they have said on the radio.

I'm sure we'll hear more on Mon or Tues. Just glad it's ankle instead of knee...hopefully not a high ankle sprain though.

Actually I think the Summit league on the women's side has gotten weaker - including the Jackrabbits. Without Oakland and Oral Roberts the summit has clearly taken a step backwards. Plus, NDSU the last three years or so have been extremely week. I really expected more from Denver or maybe i simply believed the Denver fans when they said how tough they were going to be?

No secret to how the Jacks win - when we shot the three well we win. Clear example would be the win vs Penn St and the USD game. Throw up air balls and bricks like we did vs Western or Omaha we can be beat.

Regardless of how we have been playing we are in FIRST place. Finish strong Jacks.

I completely agree! When Megan went down it sure appeared to be a knee from what I seen. She will have a full 10 or 11 days to recover. We are lucky that we only have one game this week and its NDSU. We should be able to handle the Bison without Megan.

Heal quickly Megan the Jackrabbits need you back in the line up ASAP.

I think that there are still good teams, it is a change of the good teams. If ORU(7-16) or Oakland(10-13) were looked at today, you would see 2 less than stellar teams. Meanwhile there is USD, IUPUI, IPFW, and WIU bringing more to the table. NDSU(6-20) is not showing much since the D1 days started. They have gone backwards more every year. Also, the Jackrabbits have been at least on an even level as we see a few big OOC wins every year. I would wager that any team will find it easier to win when they are shooting hot from the 3pt line. Take a good look at the rosters from the Summit women and it looks like improvement from the early days.

Don't forget that SDSU no longer has any surprises for conference foes. Any time a program plays the same teams over and over the familiarity helps the weaker team.

You hear it often: FIRE THE COACH, and when you do that or if the coach leaves like at ORU, you stop having winning records. USD is coming on, and their coach seems to have picked up were Ryun left off. IUPUI is darn good, and that coach knows how to get talent and keep them. WIU is also starting to look impressive so I agree pretty much with Old Hare. Its hard to believe NDSU is 6-20, but don't for a beat have a problem with that. Amy Ruley must regret quitting when she did.
