There's not the big separation between us and the rest of the Summit in terms of scoring margin of victories anymore....we aren't dominate like past seasons
Tyler said MW had an ankle injury. She finished the game on the bench with no shoe on that heavily-taped foot (and on crutches).
Trying to put a positive spin on a less than awesome game, hopefully playing these tight and tense games will help out when the stakes are raised in Sioux Falls. For now, back alone on first. Hang on and get that bye. It's more important than ever now, assuming that MW will (at best) be returning from an injury.

The rest of the Summit has gotten much better than when SDSU first joined. This is a good thing IMO, competition makes everyone on the team better.
Whether they win by 20 or 2 it's still a win. Onto the next game we roll....
And this is still the same team that made both USD and FW look silly in games just a couple weeks ago. They clearly have the ability to dominate but seem to be more than a little bi-polar.

I always worried about her landing on someones foot and twisting an ankle. She jumps about as much or more than anyone on the team, often in a crowd.Let her heal fully, can't afford a Seakamp like thing with Megan.
Team didn't play real well, but came away with a win ,with a gritty effort and never gave up,I think they deserve a pat on the back for perserverance and finding the way to win.....i just feel they deserve a little praise for this win when it looked pretty gloomy at times.Way to go Jacks!

I agree. One thing that may get lost with all the sucess is how, no matter the situations, AJ makes sure his teams don't quit
Not sure we deserved to win that one...in fact, we didn't. Two absolute horrific, inexcusable turnovers by 2 seniors in the last 15 seconds. A couple tough road games coming up.

We lost some rebounds to the Leathernecks that should have been controlled by the Jackrabbits. The women need to match the intensity on the boards to be even better tonight. They won the rebound and free throw stats which won the game. It would not have been as close with some of those rebounds that went the other way and resulted in points in the paint. The Jackrabbits and the crowd did not give up which will find more wins this year looking to the tournament. Jackrabbits missed many layups tonight as well. Leathernecks play with a lot of desire. Hopefully Megan W ankle injury is not serious. She definitely was in a bunch of pain and did not move much when she was down. The zone in the first half left many open 3's.

This was a game that we could have easily lost, but AJ kept running people in and out and I really think we wore them out. No32 for the Leathernecks is a bit of wonderment. She is grossly overweight, in fact she help me picture what I look like out there trying to play bb at this stage of the game. To her credit, she knows the game and seemed to be were she should be on both offense and defense, and she made no mistakes that I noticed. Her body set some neat picks at times. She got limited play, because of stamina.
The poor lady needs to loose 50 to 75 lbs. and she will be an excellent bb player. She was listed as a sophomore so I assume she played last year. Did she put on weight over the summer or has she always been very heavy. I wonder what AJ would do if one his players returned from summer in this physical condition. It could easily happen.

If I remember correctly, she had an illness that made her inactive after high school and she has been with the extra weight as a result of that time. I am not certain what the malady might have been.. She was heavy last year as well. She was a recruit of previous coach..

Despite, the hurdles in her life, she has done quite well. Fundamentally, she seemed to be a great role player, I give her credit for that. I don't think she had any turnovers, and she seemed know where she was in all their schemes. I hope she can continue to work on her weight problem like I hope to do this coming year. Its not fun to be overweight. Since age 22, I have been in the battle. Thanks OH for the explanation, it was helpful.
